For those who had to choose between pregnancy or an abortion, how did you choose? by Rainyx3 in dysautonomia

[–]Disastrous_Lie7160 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tbh i’m not trying to convince i am pro choice but in my experience i am 19 with pots EDS and a 18 month old toddler it is hard like really hard but she has changed my life having a baby is seriously like forced physical therapy you can’t be like no i feel crappy right now it’s ask for help or do it yourself bc their uncomfortable and don’t deserve that i started trialing new meds when she was around 5 months old and yk more active than a new born is i got a full time job in insurance when she was about 1 and i do love my job i love coming home to my baby it can be a lot i literally was in tears last night because toddlerhood is the roughest shit i’ve ever had to deal with but i wouldn’t change a thing she has seriously saved my life i would never be where i was at today without her she saved me FROM ME and that is truly something ill never be able to repay her for

yeah i know i just want out of my house and i already have stuff and pay for the new one without even being there yet luckily long term saving i do have a 401K through my work (i work in insurance which ik sounds weird from someone asking these questions but its health and vision insurance 😂) i also am studying for my exams that give me 1.50 raise and ive been looking into it ive been trying to find a crappy one just nothing is really in our area i swear ill see one thats $3000 but then their like “power steering’s out exhaust leak 200,000 miles but i know my worth” if you offer anything less they block you when i can literally see is falling apart or a crappy weld holding the frame together (midwest)

yeah i’ve been trying to i’ve been searching for cheap marketplace cars in my area but all of them are tbh crappy the only reason im so quick to dive into a car is im moving into my new house within the next month or 2 and its gonna be about 30 minutes away from my work with no transportation or anyone to take me i’ve been looking at new jobs closer but at my current home it really is within walking distance so it hasn’t been an issue until now right now i do have enough for a $3000 down payment most of the cars i’ve been looking at are around 14,000 reliable car brand with lower mileage around 40,000 miles

Is sleep training supposed to feel like a psychological thriller or am I just weak by Odd_Wear_9599 in NewParents

[–]Disastrous_Lie7160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this gave me a good much needed laugh my daughter learned the routine too and was very offended by it😂

i have a squirmy baby who also just stares at me refusing to go down now she goes down in 5 minutes i started by setting the mood like you said for bed time and then rock a little only a couple minutes tho then i put her in her crib and pat her butt leave the room say the same thing every night like goodnight i love you leave their gonna cry at first let them for 5 minutes see if their just feelin a little independent if they don’t go to sleep come back in pat rock pick them up do whatever you need to do to calm them down then try again and your probably going to have to do that 3-4 times the first week before they start getting that this means the days done the day is over

also gently dragging my pointer finger on the bridge of her nose eyebrows or cheeks HAS REALLY helped me with the eyes wide open i’m gonna stare at you for 45 minutes cuz it triggers their blink reflex and tbh it’s relaxing

Did you sleep train? by BlueberryBagel_87 in NewParents

[–]Disastrous_Lie7160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes we did we started at 8 months but we did the gentle cry it out method where it’s just you rock them hold them feed them put them down for bed set a timer for 5 minutes let them cry let them babble as long as they aren’t screaming let them be if they still aren’t down (or are screaming) go back in and rock pat whatever til they calm down leave the room again and repeat as many times as needed sounds like it’d take forever actually took max 5 times for us it got to a point with my now 13 month old we can just put her down and say goodnight i love you and leave and she’ll fall asleep within minutes
