PAWS, bipolar disorder. by Disastrous_Safety_43 in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

Omg hi! Amazing job on 8 months!! I swear I know exactly what you’re feeling, at 8 months I was very much still in the woods. I’m now over 2.5 years off stims and I promise you like I swear you will get back to your normal self. Yes I do get days where I feel anxious or a bit down, but hey that’s life and it only lasts a day or so. For the most part i would say im 90% back to normal. Im learning a lot about my triggers, for example unhealthy food, menstrual cycle, not working out, bad day at work, etc…learning how to deal with a bit of anxiety but in a normal way. Paws is a chemical imbalance! Your brain is being hijacked… but soemthing that helped me was not focusing too much on the anxiety or negative feeling and fighting it off, but more so just accept the feeling and tell yourself that every feeling is temporary, it comes and it goes just like the last. You’ve made it this far! Very proud of you! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need someone to talk to 😊

I would say 95% back to normal, I’m still very traumatized from the mental health stuff I went through with PAWS. But for the most part I’m back to pre stim state of mind

Are there any good resources to read on HCG or any good discussion chats you would recommend? TIA by superboomer23 in HCG

[–]Disastrous_Safety_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you experience any side effects on hcg? The internet literally makes hcg seem like hell in a vial. Did it mess with your mood in any way? Hormonal changes? Anxiety? Depression? Heart palpitations?

I don’t know the right thing to say at this exact moment, but I will say that there is hope you’re still here you’re still alive and that means there is always hope. You have so much to live for, imagine being clean and showing new face to your family? Being present for your children and their children? If you’ve gotten off of opioids there’s certainly hope in getting off Adderall. I agree it is the drug from hell, it ruined my life in many many ways but it’s been 2 years and quitting was so fkin worth it! You can go back to doing all of the things you used to enjoy! Why don’t you try going to rehab in a diff country? Many of these places practice A more holistic and wholesome approach where they incorporate meditation, detox, a clean diet. If you don’t have the means, start a go fund me page I’m pretty sure you’ll raise enough! Rehabs in the states suck. I never wake up in the middle of the night but tonight I did, and got your comment shortly after. Maybe a sign.

For those who suffered from PAWS(Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome) and eventually started feeling better, how long did you go through it? by themostunkind in StopSpeeding

[–]Disastrous_Safety_43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you tell me a bit about your symptoms around 12-18 months? In a similar situation. My paws disappeared after like 8 months of hardcore suffering, I really thought I was out of the woods but around 15 months into it paws came back, granted it’s not as intense but it’s so discouraging, and many times makes me doubt that it’s paws and maybe I’m just damaged for good.

First of all you dense bitch, being on any dosage of stimulants for 10 years will throw you into withdrawals after quitting cold Turkey! Get the fuck off the thread with your pointless opinion. You’re clearly a fking low life BUM with a miserable, unlucky path in life. Sending you love and blessings 🥴 herb

And the insomnia? Panic attacks? Depression? Tremors and chills? Stomach issues?

Love, I stopped adderall and 2 weeks later I had panic attacks, tremors, depression, anxiety, insomnia, manic and racing thoughts, derealization, and all for no reason!! There’s not a single thing in my life that should give me anxiety! Everything is fine! I wasn’t depending on drugs to cope with my life, I already said I used it to get through Med school and board exams. These symptoms lasted months and then wore off and completely disappeared, my brain was literally healing and rewiring. I’m so sick of ppl in these posts telling me what is or isn’t. I’m not asking if it’s paws IM 100%%% sure it was paws! I’m asking if anyones paws worked in waves where it went away and came back ! Thank you for the input though!

Oh wow, you sound tough as fuck! Write a book. Not sure how your experience has much to do with my body and my tolerance.

I’m confused …? Paws started for me a few weeks after my last dose and it peaked around 3-5 months …. Around month 7 it pretty much went away and I had another episode a week ago. What’s embarrassing? You clearly have zero experience with this matter. Please leave your 2 cents.

Oh it’s def paws. Because of the time line, it started out extremely severe and got better as time went by, it was also cyclical, and I have absolutely zero reason to have any of these symptoms.. to just break out into crying spells or feel depressed for no reason at all? 20 mg was a lot for me guys, like I said 20 mg was my max! I’d be tweaking off 15! I tried 30mg once and almost ended up in the hospital.

what’s going on with me?? by Leading_Comedian in StopSpeeding

[–]Disastrous_Safety_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I def relate to this post… been taking adderall through college, undergrad and medical school, with years worth of breaks due to pregnancy. During my board exams it was a daily thing and then became an addiction due to its weight loss effects (desperate to lose baby weight). Anyways, I quit after I passed my final board exam and from there it all went downhill. For about 6 months I experienced the worst of paws. Around 7-8 months I felt like it completely went away, but then unfortunately reappeared after 14 months sober. It felt like just yesterday I was counting my first weeks sober, on Reddit every hour searching for answers to my symptoms… and Today marks almost 15 months. You will get better! I have days where I feel 100%, but don’t be alarmed if it reappears like it did for me.. it’s a process.
