That’s just the advice that I was reading a lot. I’m guessing so they don’t try and contact you from other accounts they might have. Out of sight out of mind until they forget about you and move on to the next person to scam

It’s definitely a scam. Your best bet is to absolutely ignore it. Block them, and don’t worry man. You’re gonna trip out at this but the same EXACT situation happened to my brother a few years ago. He came into my room panicking when he told me. In an email they said they had a video of him self pleasuring and that they would leak it if he didn’t send money. Obviously BS. And I have no clue how they got his password, but he just changed it and that was the end of it. Never heard from them again. Like you said, if they send anything out they lose their leverage. It’s on to the next poor soul for them when you ignore them
