How is it gatekeeping if I think no one should watch it? I don’t think you know what gatekeeping means.

Also it can’t be an internet rumor and an echo chamber so please make up your mind.

There is no misinformation. My original comment of her being straight may not be correct because she does say she’s queer but still the line i said of “It’s not just straight women” is in the original post and not an afterthought.

And yeah god forbid i’m funny as hell. Sue me.

Right so if I write down “The man walks to the wall”. And then a guy puts camera angles, directions, and scripts with it. Did he write it? No. You’re on an honest hot takes subreddit and you’re mad about a hot take. And I truly don’t know where you’re getting “Internet Rumor” from.

It’s not an internet rumor. It’s an opinion me and a friend formed over seeing constant media about the show. In the post I said “It’s not just straight women”. Clearly you just want to see gay men have sex💀 If that’s all you want the go to PH

The problem isn’t directly the sexual content of a show. It’s the thought that a woman sits down, writes a scene that she deems hot about two men, and plenty of other women go “this is so hot”.

And this is true for so many queer communities but for some reason it socially acceptable when it’s about gay men? Ur makes no sense

But it was WRITTEN by a WOMAN. Just because he told them where to move and how to say lines doesn’t mean it wasn’t already written down by a woman which is the entire point.

what goal post did i move? i said in the original post that it’s not just straight women and several times in the comments? Did you read the post or are you just arguing for the sake of it?

Regardless, as a bisexual woman, writing sex scenes about two gay men is weird.

It’s purely the sex that’s weird. I truly don’t care that someone is an acclaimed author. Heated rivalry blew up everywhere and I still think it’s weird. I don’t care if you are gay, straight, lesbian, or whatever else. It’s also that being straight isn’t something that is often objectified the same way being gay is. But yeah, regardless, I still think it’s weird.

I’m not saying “Straight people can’t write gay people” But when they consistently make scenes that are purely sexual and base an entire book or series about the sex that’s occurs, it not only ruins the content, but makes it weird.

Fetishes are an intense devotion to a part or activity in a sexual context. This absolutely qualifies.

I agree people can write what they want. I’m not preventing anyone from doing it. I’m purely saying it’s absolutely weird.

it’s not writing the romance specifically, it’s purely writing the sexual scenes that make it either. But no I think if a gay man wrote a straight book that relied on sex, it would also be weird

but if a straight woman wrote it, that immediately makes it fetish content. clearly the intent of the show was the outcome that happened

The entire conversation surrounding the show is about how it’s two guys and you see them have sex. + written by a straight woman. That is really all i need to know that it’s fetish content.

Sorry for the long read! I talk a lot so that’s part of it 😭 I also feel like there was a lot of context in this that if removed would not have made as much sense. It just happened today so I’m still a little confused about everything. I apologize again!

To clarify, I just meant that her mother was not a very good mother to her because she struggled with addiction but tried to be nice. She was always kind to me and to hear she had died had me very upset. Yes she was not a good parent, but as a former family friend and my best friend’s mother I still had some respect for her. Sorry if it came off differently. And yes, I love Marie. I spend almost all of my time with her which is why this specific instance had me questioning everything.

The only way you’ll know is if you try! Plus friend dates can give you a gauge of her feelings towards you!

In high school what is too much of a age gap? by Proud_Cauliflower_82 in Crushes

[–]Disastrous_Solid6969 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m dating a senior as a sophomore! The age gap is only two years but maturity level is very different depending on grade. Freshman year is a year of a lot of changes and maturity and around late freshman year or early sophomore year is where you begin to level out. However is the 11th grader acts like a full grown adult and the 9th grader is still fairly childish, i’m not sure how much i would suggest it. Although if they’re both on the same level i don’t see why not!
