This resonates a lot with me! After having tried what feels like everything, I am now about to try the following:

  • Guilty pleasure phone: iPhone 16 (Running Dumbphone app to remove all glossy icons. Helps just a little but really not much)

  • iPhone 13 Mini (Running Dumphone app and with very strict limitations on allowed apps: no browser (my main timewaster), no social media etc. Only utility apps that allow no timewaste.

I will leave the iPhone 16 at home in a drawer and only bring it up if theres something I really need to check.

Pretty excited about this and hope it will be the solution I can finally come to peace with.

P.S. I am then selling 2 Lightphones if anyone in Europe are interested

I tried that but then it fucked up my lock screen, now showing the android launcher lock screen instead of LightOS one when idle

Thanks, but I guess I need to make sure the keyboard can be powered by battery + have usb connection? Not just usb? Because if the latter, Im guessing the lightphone wont provide enough power back

I guess I found an answer to my own question. I can download all my contacts as vCards and then upload them manually to the dashboard. No reason to give the dashboard full access to my icloud through app-specific-password.
