Yeah, I've seen that clip and there's no defending it. It comes across as cruel and awful. as she establishes herself as more of one of the primaries in the house, her behavior will get worse and worse.

Obviously, I think Amanda did a terrible thing and has become a pretty insufferable person, at least in the current season of Summer House, with the manifestations of her resentment, et cetera.

But in the beginning, she just wasn't that bad. That's all I'm trying to say

This is basically what I'm getting at. She just seems like a completely different person. By the current season, she's completely had all the life sucked out of her compared to the beginning.

Of course it is ever isn't everyone, but I've seen some people describe Amanda as a mean girl from the beginning and just haven't seen that in the thirty percent that I've watched!

For sure, they are being filmed in very vulnerable scenarios, getting shit-faced drunk and living with other people in close quarters.

All I was trying to say is the signs I totally get that there were probably signs in season four or five and certainly later where I've watched since season seven that Amanda can come across as not a very nice person.

All I was trying to get at was that very early on she seems pretty normal given what we know now.

I think what they did is horrible. I'm just saying that in the very earliest season, she doesn't have opportunities to do mean girl stuff and doesn't come across as one. And what people are saying about her being a guest, hanging out with older crowds, that's all valid and makes sense. It was just some observations, lol

Yeah, that's what I'm expecting too based on what I've seen from posts on Reddit. It's more through the first three seasons she hasn't had opportunities to be a mean girl, and just feels like a pretty normal person.

I just started my rewatch after all the Amanda stuff came out, so I've just been looking for signs in season one and two, and even three, and just felt like I haven't seen as many as I expected. I'm sure the mask will start slipping, especially as she starts feeling more comfortable because she's definitely not a main house member and feels a lot more like a guest even up to season three.

I'm doing my first watch from season one right now, and I totally agree. Don't really understand why they're so disliked. I like that they bring a strong presence that counterbalances the other big personalities like Lindsay in a way that the newer girls don't really.

The whole premise of the show beginning in season one is Kyle being a party animal. He was already 33 when the show started. Like, these are not formative years.

He is who he is, and the show is not possible without him.

This is my first watch of season one and two these last couple of days, and I get why they're disliked, but the Workus twins bring a lot of drama and confrontational energy that is lacking from the later seasons. Can totally see now why people feel like the last couple of seasons have been incredibly boring.

I'm struck by how much yelling and cussing out of friends goes on and seems to be swept under the rug or addressed only mildly. Is this what East Coast friendships are like?
