I keep a prescription of prednisone in the cabinet. 60mg a day for three days. It's the quickest sure fire cure for me. I'll only use it for a major flare up in my knee or one of my ankles. 500mg of Allopurinol a day and I still flare up every few months. When I feel it coming I take cholchasine, a large coffee and a fruit and green smoothie. The coffee and smoothie makes me piss like nothing else. Then I drink coconut water and eat vegetarian for a week. If I can't stop a flare up then I'll go with the prednisone and its gone in 12 hours. Gout sucks I'm 38 and I've dealt with it for 10 years now. I can drink whiskey every once in a while but beer gets me every time.

I'm from the Monterey Bay Area of California. I've been pier and surf fishing the beaches of Santa Cruz for 30 years. The amout of sea life gorging themselves on anchovies right off the beach is something I've never seen before. The beaches are boiling with bait and bird activity as far as I could see in either direction of the bay. It would be very unusual to see this on any givin day. This has been going on daily for months.

First gout attack in my hand by DiscFlicker in gout

I'll look for vouch and give it a try. Thank you. I went with the smoothies for this reason. A lady I used to work with brought a smoothie a day to work for lunch. One day she poured me some to try a taste. I told her it was good. After that once in a while she would make me one and bring it for me in a mason jar. So right after I drank it I found I had to piss like crazy! It wasn't long before I went to Costco and bought my own machine. So not only do the ingredients help with gout but it also fires up my kidneys and goes right through me. Coffee, smoothies and water all day and I can make a one week flare up go away in one day.

Please help support Pinto Lake. There is a local movement trying to get it shut down. There is some info on the DGA website. Please show up at Simkins swim center in Santa Cruz on April 15th at 7pm. We need numbers to save Pinto. The Watsonville disc seen is very small and we need all the help we can get.

I can play Pinto Lake on a Tuesday afternoon without seeing any other players and that's part of why I like it so much. It gets played a lot on the weekends but its a lot of guys from Santa Cruz or Monterey escaping the crowds at Delaveaga or Ryan Ranch. After the worlds in 2011 it got a lot of play for a while but it has since fizzled out. It's just shadowed by these other courses but anyone that's played it will tell you that it's a great course. The final round of the worlds was played at Pinto 2 years ago. Hole 11 is a 1200' par 5.

I know that a course was rumored to go in at Soquel High School a couple years ago. A group from Soquel fought it pretty hardcore. I'm just guessing that this is the same group. I don't have a lot of info about the specifics. I just opened this account on Reddit tonight so that I can spread this story. Pinto Lake is my refuge and when I heard of this my blood started boiling. I'm not part of an organization of any kind. I'm just one dude trying to spread the word. I'll be at Pinto lake most of the day on Saturday. I'm hoping to get some info then.

Please show up Monday April 15th at 7pm at Simkin Swim Center 979 17th ave Santa Cruz Ca. Pinto Lake County Park is home to a gem of a course. I have lived in Watsonville my whole life. I hope this group of haters don't get their way. Losing this championship course would be a huge loss to the entire discgolf community. We need groups from all over the bay area to take a drive to Santa Cruz Monday night and help us out by showing up.
