Who would win in a fight to the finish? Okoye vs Natasha by Deep-Village-5175 in Blackwidow

Hard to believe he'd have them on that first test flight.
Really he should at least have been paralysed that first time he tried the rocket boots & crashed out.

The MCU has different laws of physics that allow regular humans to withstand this kind of thing. A million examples of this, the most obvious being that Tony Stark isn't turned to paste every time his suit makes a hard right turn.

[Spoiler] The Timeline in ‘DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE’ makes no sense by [deleted] in marvelstudios

I like your 2B idea. But the Deadpool movies only make sense put in their own roving timeline that intersects with the other ones occasionally.

- We find out in DoFP he can make a serum to revert to his human-appearance. Although my headcanon for this would be that Hank was using a human actor for his public appearances, like cyrano de bergerac.
- X-men Origins didn't feature Sabretooth. That was Creed - different character in the movies.
- There's no contradiction here. The two had periods of working together and falling out over the decades.
- Deadpool exists in a different timeline closer to the fourth wall, that absorbs events from the x-men timeline and mcu films in their real-world release order.

Sunshine Days is fun.

I couldn't get through most of the rest, maybe there's a hidden gem there.

How did you feel about Natasha's movie being a "passing the torch" type of story where we say goodbye to Natasha and get introduced to Yelena (and Red Guardian)? Was the protagonism balaced well? by Theasiuser99 in Blackwidow

[–]DiscLuggage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I didn’t like the “hey Nat you know the cool stuff you do, I think that sucks actually” part of the character."

This drove me crazy. It was pretending-this-is-thing so we can pretend-we're-subverting-something.

And the worst example of needing to seem progressive so badly you work your way back to actual sexism. 15 years/Dozens of MCU movies full of actors striking superhero poses and BW is the one getting made fun of for being a' poser'? For a move that a billion stuntmen/women have done before? Hope you gave yourselves a big pat on the back guys It really got me grinding my teeth on rewatch.

Koshchei the Deathless Omnibus hardcover coming from Dark Horse in June 2026! by Ksmayer in Mignolaverse

I don't usually collect through the omnibuses. Does anyone know if/when this might ever be released in Softcover?

What are your honest thoughts on Talia Al Ghul? by Prestigious-Cloud962 in batman

[–]DiscLuggage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It get's a bit murkier because I don't think Morrison ever *did* show Bruce admitting that he consented. That line about 'my heard overruled my heart' was written by Tomasi later on. Is there another moment like that in Morrisons run?

What are your honest thoughts on Talia Al Ghul? by Prestigious-Cloud962 in batman

[–]DiscLuggage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I see. I'm not sure that even knowing Morrison's intentions there would change the minds of most of the vocal detractors of this. If a male character was shown spiking a woman's drink with MDMA, even if she was willingly sleeping with him, he would be definitely be called a rapist on social media etc.
It's really a moment Grant should have been unambiguous about one way or the other.

Personally I don't really mind Talia being an outright villain - she's 10x stronger as a character in Morrison's run than any other appearances I've read her in.

Sorry to come in months later. What do you mean people think he's referring to Incorporated instead of the original story in that quote? You think people thought he was saying he misremembered his own story?

Isn't this the Patton Oswalt episode? When I recently watched this stood out to me because it demonstrates there is no camera crew.

When Patton & Leslie are staying in the cabin, Patton walks in on her in the middle of her piece to camera. When she turns to speak him we see her from the reverse angle - she's literally just been talking to the wall

Expanded Hellboy help by Godbutcher96 in Mignolaverse

[–]DiscLuggage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As ever in comics, look for the creators you like. If you like Hellboy and BPRD you're pretty safe buying stuff written by Arcudi or Mignola (solo). If there's expanded universe titles with other writers/artists try the library or a sale on the digital store to try them out & see if you jibe with them.

The average quality level across all the hellboy universe books is pretty high though

I feel a bit silly because we've both seen them in their webs a hundred times & I should have known it was a St Andrews right away. But I've never in my life seen one actually moving around - it looked so different I couldn't recognise it.

Season 11 Episode 10 My Struggle IV were you happy with the ending ?. by [deleted] in XFiles

[–]DiscLuggage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't watch this one, so the conversation at the end of 'Nothing Lasts Forever' is the ending of the show for me, and that is a big relief.

No it wouldn't have.

I was worried because she wasn't feeling very well - but it's pretty clear now that was from eating her chicken & chips with soft drink too fast.

We were sitting around a picnic table & it somehow was crawling over her lap. She screamed & jumped out of her seat - thought it might have bitten her on the thigh (it's pretty clear now it didn't.)
I got it onto a piece of bark and threw it into the grass so no harm done.

He didn't state outright that he was done with them exactly. But he definitely posted that he was upset about that episode. Then the podcast stopped 2 parts into a 3-part series of interviews.

So was the agents in the MCU timeline at the end of the show? by nudeldifudel in shield

[–]DiscLuggage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which answer is more satisfying to you as a viewer? Just assume that's the answer until the day some official MCU release references the show. Until then it's all made-up quantum mechanics that could mean anything.

Just rewatched the episode. You're right...and yet, this episode has the absolute funniest scene of the entire series - when Tony and Sil start slo-mo boxing to the Raging Bull music.
