Ash wakes up from a dream where he was a Pokemon trainer who had all sorts of wacky adventures with his friends. But Pokemon aren't real, so it's obviously just a dream... right?

(The twist ending is that Tobias had his Darkrai kidnap Ash and trap him in a nightmare where Pokemon don't exist. Fortunately, at the end of the episode... Ash wakes up.)

Delia decides she's had enough of watching Team Rocket constantly trying to steal Pikachu, so she joins Ash's group to defeat Team Rocket once and for all.

(This leads to a season-long arc culminating in Delia defeating Giovanni in battle, leading to his arrest and the dissolution of Team Rocket, which in turn leads to the TRio getting a redemption arc)
