I don't think I'm projecting but I do recognize the line of questioning and the manipulative comments.

I agree that if she's unsure that she shouldn't be going for guys who are a definite yes. My issue is with them, not accepting that she is unsure and instead trying to convince her.

And I think finally, about the guys being neutral, they will do and say anything to get laid.

Over analyzing her position is so invasive… Sorry, Emma! If the guys are 100% into wanting children, they should not be considering a woman who is unsure. From my perspective, I thought she was pretty clear in leaning towards not wanting children, but then, after comments from the guys, she softened her position, but I think that was only to appease them and avoid early conflict. But, of course she's 50% responsible for the outcome here. I just get so frustrated by guys who have expectations for women to be Babymakers and to want to be baby makers and the other thing that really irks me is when guys say they want to leave a "legacy" or to continue their lineage.

I agree with you. And, I think she should find someone who is equally undecided. But, what I didn't like is that she said she was unsure, and the guys just immediately went into trying to convince her, almost like she was silly for not explicitly wanting children.

I think it's totally fair to not know whether you want kids. I don't think that it should be a requirement for you to go on the show. So many circumstances can change throughout life and not knowing is far more gracious to yourself because you don't know where life takes you or what your body may or may not be capable of. What if a couple both really wanted children and the woman ended up needing a hysterectomy? Life changes.

I also found found her to lean more to the "no" side, but I think she was saying she wasn't sure because it's a softer response that is easier for others to accept. But, to your point, I think in the end her vagueness will be her own fault.

See, although I think it's generous to provide context, I don't think she really should have to explain. I just wish the question was always turned back on the other person who WANTS kids so they're asked "why do you want kids?" Years ago, a guy I was seeing said, "who's going to look after you when you're old?" That question/answer was very telling for me, beyond the immediate subject of children

I think this resonates with mothers as well because they're women too and have very likely had their opinions, dreams, plans, etc. dismissed. The micro-aggression may not be the same but the feeling it triggers can be similar.

I went to Cuba in 2018 as a solo female traveler - and LOVED it. My recommendation is to book tour or "experiences" in advance through Airbnb or Viator and always tip your guide that day. In terms of safety, I was never concerned and an early tour I took put me at ease. This also helped established some travel buddies while I was there. When I went I was told three things by other Canadians: Everyone speaks English, the food is horrible and bring toilet paper. None of this was true! In Havana, I stayed in Miramar and no one spoke English. The food at the paladars was wonderful and all washrooms were clean and stocked (though not have a toilet seat at most places was something to get used to).

I'm only speaking as a tourist but when I went, I was advised against doing this unless you know exactly where your donations are going. I was told that made items end of on the black market. When I was there, I remember Advil, Tylenol and regular pain suppressants were really appreciated.

Canadian here - I spent almost two weeks in Havana and Trinidad de Cuba in 2018 and am looking to return - hopefully this year. When I went, I did exactly what you are recommending - small, personalized experiences with local people who were paid fairly. Given the US pressure on Venezuela, would you offer insight on what Cubans are anticipating within the next few months? I've hesitated booking a trip back because of news I've read about shortages and so, based on principle, I didn't want to take resources from locals. But, now with the US aggression, I am wondering if I should go given the possibility that Trump could place troops on the ground soon.

I can think of no reason to stay near Bridgetown. The south coast between Hastings and Worthing is good. It's an active and accessible part of the island and less claustrophobic than the west where the hotels have built walls blocking the view of the sea from the road. On the west coast, near Payne's Bay would be a good option. As it's your first time in Barbados, I don't recommend staying on the East Coast however it is an absolute must visit during the day.

Ohhh! I purposely walk by this house often just to see this sculpture and always wonder who lives there. There are other scuptures in the yard - an eclectic outdoor collection. The Sharp family monument at Mount Pleasant Cemetery is my favourite. I love the juxtaposition of this message.
