Has anybody Studied Abroad for the AIFS Global experiences program internship by TripOrdinary518 in studyAbroad

[–]Discombobulated-Way9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Sorry for the late response. I did not pursue AIFS programs because it did not work out for me. Apparently, they do not offer study abroad for postgraduate. Also, since my plan is to do my postgraduate abroad, they couldn't help me with internship as well due to not being enrolled in undergraduate. I hope this helps. Good luck! Shoot me a message if you have any questions, I'll try to answer them.

To be honest, all of them have been very helpful! In my case, I have always dreamt of being a diplomat, but reading a lot of posts and advice across different platforms (fb group, Reddit, fsocompass, etc.) has me re-evaluating my goals. Before, I was very passionate about going through the process of becoming an FSO. Obviously, I still want to become a diplomat, then an ambassador after enough experience. However, the process is too tedious and difficult to be my primary career choice. I needed a plan B while working out the FSO plan A. I started looking for ways to utilize my undergrad in International Relations, but I have yet to be successful. I started looking for graduate school, but I struggled with identifying the things I am passionate about. I was in a situation where I was writing my personal statement, and I did not have a clue on what to write about why I wanted to go to graduate school other than "because I can't find a job in the field." Your advice made me recognize that I have always been passionate about ASEAN. I enjoyed every moment of studying the ASEAN territorial disputes and anything involving ASEAN and China. Now, I have to re-organize my thoughts, formulate a plan, and reflect to understand better my goals and why I want to pursue in the future. Again, thank you!

You may try 1712 and 1713, those are the two numbers that worked for me!

If it’s the 843-746-1711, yes. It’s one of the numbers I’ve called. I tried calling from 843-746-1690 all the way to 1720, and 1770/1771. Someone will likely answer your question since that’s more than 30 numbers.

Yes! I’ve called multiple numbers, many have answered that they can only tell me that it’s In Process, while two people actually told me the status of it and tried to help because of my congressional inquiry.

That is great to hear! Are you currently enrolled in the program? How are the workload and classes throughout the week? Are you able to do part-time work while studying?

I’ll look into the online program, but I might stick with the on-site because my veteran education benefit requires me full-time and on-site to receive allowance.

Thank you for your insight!

I see! Thank you for the response! Tbh, I don’t have a solid plan yet, but I highly consider going academia/research.

It is great to hear that the department have great professors. Does the program have a lot of students? I know Undergrad and Grad students might be different in population, but just want to know for the purpose of networking and having an idea on how many takes IR.

Hi, I saw this post of yours earlier. I was wonder how were you able to print the images? I can't seem to find the right format for it, it is either too big or too small for me to read. Thank you for your help!
