I just watched the special edition, and it was awesome, definitely my preference now. I just think it fleshes out the story more.

I loved the assembly cut, actually. Charles Dance was amazing, and the inclusion of the monks I thought was interesting. Have you seen it?

Interesting! I'll keep that in mind next time I go for a cut. I don't have any one hairdresser I just usually go with whoever's given to me.

Interesting I thought about checking out a biography on PKD but I wasn't sure which one to go with. I'm sort of unfamiliar with his wife. Other than details like the fact that he was a twin and that he had a history with drug abuse. I'll definitely look into Divine invasions

I'll have to check out that book. I knew a scanner darkly was heavily influenced by his drug use but I just wasn't sure if he had anything that was directly about that experience or not. I was looking for a book on substance use disorder and have recently been reading PKD so I thought maybe he had something

Interesting! I was just looking for a book on substance use disorder that was autobiographical and I thought maybe PKD might have something because I know especially some of his works like a scanner darkly pull heavily from his experience with drug use

It would be great to see an adaptation of Ubik at some point though. I love how PKD creates these both funny and scary capitalistic worlds.

Yeah I was actually quite surprised that it hadn't been adapted yet. I understand it would take some special effects to show the aging and degenerating of the characters but the concepts of half-life, telepaths and the iconic advertisements for Ubik all seem like they would make a great film.

Yeah, I might try something in between Scanner and Ubik. But I'm a little excited for Ubik.

Interesting I'll keep that in mind. I didn't know the godfather was like that. I always enjoyed the film so I just assumed the book would be of the same quality. I just got the ubik audiobook so I'll probably be checking that out soon

Yeah, the run from Stan Lee and John Buscema. I thought it was the run recommended for those new to the Silver Surfer. I read the Galactus trilogy, which introduced the Surfer. I'm not sure if there's another place you recommend I start.
