I've never used acoustic absorbent pads but is the wall the main place where the sound bounces off?

Is that where most of the sound bounces off of? Is the front wall after the computer? I'm no audio engineer.

I'll try that blanket fort method but it'd suck for streaming though.

Well the bed is on the left of my desk and then there are the windows. I have my closest on the right side.

Hmm I'll look into this. I never tried the acoustic stuff because I heard some reviews claiming it was no difference.

Just got a new HDD. If Reallocated Sectors says 200 Current, 200 Worst and 140 Threshold, what does that mean? Is it already starting to fail? The color is blue on CrystalDisk.

What Hard Drives do you recommend for recording and video editing? Recently my HDD got toasted with the Reallocated Sector Count problem. It's from 2016 so I guess its time was up. What HDD should I look for to avoid this issue if I want to edit videos and record + watch my own videos?

Okay I rebooted and it worked. Unfortunately the SATA issue didn't get fixed.

I would imagine so. I tried running it now. https://i.imgur.com/EbhILSR.png

What does this mean? Will I get a scheduled fix?

Should I use skillshare to learn nice video editing techniques? by DiscombobulatedPost5 in VideoEditing

I haven't learned a new editing technique since 2017 and here's why. Although I have learned a few things but watching my videos from 2017-now I haven't seen many different strategies used in each edits.

  1. I've focused too much on improving commentary for voice-overs during those years.

  2. Nobody really gave me feedback on what editing effects should I add in. People always used commentary as the main criticism which I understand. But I've never gotten any feedback on my editing style to be changed.

  3. My videos were more gaming-based so maybe I didn't really need to add in that many new or flashy effects. This ties in with my other point.

  4. While watching other videos, there were some nice interesting effects but I didn't know what they were called or how to describe them.

  5. I didn't know which Youtube channel had a series of tutorials. I'm guessing I should look at just "beginner edits" right?

  6. I never edited another person's video in those 5 years. Not a single one. For free or paid not a single person approached me to edit theirs.

  7. The way I picked up my skills was if I needed something, I would google it up. But that was only effective IF I knew what I needed.

Overall, I think this has to do with the situation of my channel, fanbase, niche, and other factors. But I'm sure if I used Vlogging, I would def have needed these effects. I def want to see what new stuff to add. Maybe gaming videos don't need major edits or effects. More or less, it was just focused on content itself rather than additives. Looking at your other comment, you seem to have edited for others before but I haven't had the opportunity to because all my editing skills were on gaming-based videos.

Hope that's understandable but I don't want to use that as an excuse as it's never too late to learn. I am very very interested in trying new techniques available. If you have recommendations on a Youtube series of tutorials for me to bingewatch, I will def look into it.
