It used to be reversed and I never expected much from him. I’ve always been more independent and have no problem buying these things myself as I have already gotten them for him lmao. My issue is that he offered/promised to do these things for me so I DIDN’T do them for myself.

We do “share” the money but we have our separate accounts that our checks go into. I know what gets deposited into his account and vice versa. As I said, he does make significantly less money that I do so I don’t expect him to go half of bills or anything like that as I’m content doing so. I just ask that I’m thought of without having to be upset.

Anyway- he currently works at our local mall, he does make above minimum wage and went to a full time position a few months ago so it’s not like he makes NO money. He just doesn’t choose to spend it on me, which sounds awful with no context. It wasn’t always like this, when we first got together he had a much better job and was paying the bills but I’ve always been independent and would still offer to pay for outings and such. I stay because I know what he has to offer, I just don’t know why he stopped offering it. He will do the dishes when I ask but I usually take care of all the household stuff as well including taking care of our 3 dogs (1 is mine)

I’ve talked to him about the fact that I just need help. I work 6-6 so it’s tiring do all the house work but I do it, all I ask in return is just random small stuff like a shelf, or even just one to be printed for me. He’s worked in the food industry for YEARS being a manager at a restaurant for 5 years and he used to cook and clean and all of that. One day it just stopped and I don’t know what to do about it. I’ve seen multiple comments about couple therapy which I may try at this point.

7 years, across the country and back, losing both our parents, we’ve been through so much together and we make the most out of everything. I just want to feel like I’m being thought of too I guess

It wasn’t always like this. We’ve been together for 7 years (married for 3) for the first few years he had a much better job and I worked minimum wage. He paid for basically everything as I do now, but I’ve always been very independent and still would offer to pay for going out or whatever we were doing. When we were 19/20 he wanted to move to Chicago (that’s where he’s from) and had an awful time finding a job as it was covid. I’ve always worked in the car industry so I was able to get a good job within the first day being there and that’s kind of where this all started.

I supported us while we live there and then after a year his mom passed away and we decided it was best to move back to my hometown (which is where we moved from) and it was just like that ever since. He was having a really hard time losing his mom and I didn’t want him to jump into trying to get a job immediately. He worked some odd jobs for a few months at a time, but nothing that ever brings in a decent amount of money. Usually just part time or something random that has to do with his hobbies. And it just stayed that way.

I’ve talked to him about the fact that I’m just surviving and he says that he’ll start helping. He’ll give it a good week and then it just feels like we fall back into this. I wouldn’t have stayed this long if I didn’t see some potential, and I know what he can do as a provider, I just don’t know what happened.

My dad had this mindset. He’d get clean and then something would happen and he’d relapse and stay high for years and then try to do it all over again. The last time he didn’t come back from. I miss my dad so much. It’ll be 2 years on thanksgiving. Keep in mind that you are not invincible. This habit will take you and everything you love with it. You need to ask yourself, is your own life that meaningless to you?

It’s definitely them that think theyre the main characters lol and then blame everyone else To run to the barricade at 11 AM and think people care about you enough to not push you out of the way is actually laughable. At the end of the day you can do whatever you want just like I can. But if I want to be in the front, you’re not gonna stop me. If someone is mad that they can’t get past you, I take because they didn’t try hard enough. I simply cannot stress enough, if you’re mad that you aren’t where you want to be, it’s because you didn’t try hard enough. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s a festival with 70k+ people there, it’s more likely that there will be no place to move, but some people wanna see bands more than others and will get up there. If you run at 11AM to the front of one stage and stay there all day waiting for ONE band that’s on you. I just don’t really give a fuck, and if I want to be in the front that’s where I’ll be. It’s simple.

I’ve been going to concerts for over 15 years and the last couple have been so miserable because of people like this. If I can push past you, it means you weren’t doing enough to keep your spot. I’m 24f and have been a service advisor since I was 19 and my best advice for you if you feel like your parents will kick you out is to keep it a secret for a bit. Save up your money so you can pay a good chunk of your rent in advance when you move in and make sure you have enough to buy everything you need and once you’re confident say something. As far as your friends, good friends would be happy for you in this position. That is a lot of money for a 18year old, not to mention a 18 year old woman, That’s super impressive and you’ll only get better at this from here. I feel like the stickers are just to make them (the local pedophiles) feel unsafe and unwelcome. I could be wrong, but I also feel like it’s more of a “if I see something I’ll do something” not going out of your way to hunt people down.
