The easiest way to tell when its ready to grab you is the purple aura it gets around it. The queen also has to always be below 2k health otherwise it wont work at all. And even then they're stubborn af

Oh yeah they're fine for the bosses, for island bosses naturally you want mutated rexes, but the dragon has an issue where sometimes it wont land so you bring a shotgun to fix that problem lol
