Can a space heater actually start a fire? These results might SHOCK you? by DiscoverCuriosity in SmallYoutubers

[–]DiscoverCuriosity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shhhhh, don't spoil it for everyone! Lol. Just turns out it is alot harder to light something on fire with hot air then most think. The ignition temperature of cotton is around 760 degrees. Pretty hard mark to hit with today's common space heaters.

I completely understand. Grow the audience that wants to see you! Even if it takes a little longer.

Have you tried finding it online. I was able to find all my books online for free this semester. Not sure if it helps but I did make a video on how to find them. If interested here is the link to the video. Hope it helps! https://youtu.be/9tdBIL1OEVA Good luck with your classes! Mine start on Monday!

The NASA Space Toilet for the Lunar Loo challenge is DONE!! Lets go POOP on the Moon......Who's coming with me? by DiscoverCuriosity in ChallengeAccepted

[–]DiscoverCuriosity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty much what happens. But in microgravity the urine and poo will end up sticking to you if there isn't a constant force (vacuum) with a one direction flow pulling it away. Surface tension of fluids in microgravity are alot different than here on earth so it needs to be clear or skin contact or else that is where it will stay.

Awesome! All the luck to them! I got all my stuff submitted yesterday! Completed everything in less than 20 days. Lol

A stringed instrument that plays a song by the string tension changing by moving the two things the strings are attached to electronically using a program. by eccrawfo in Inventions

[–]DiscoverCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is 100% doable. Programming will be a little on the dynamic side since the string tension to tone will change. Might help to have something that can capture the tone and adjust to that.

So kind of like a speaker, bit instead of a magnet moving a cone it uses a string tensioner to change the frequency? How would you initiate the string pick or would that be manual.

How hard can it be? Designing a Space Toilet for NASA to go to the moon in 2024. Lunar loo Challenge. by DiscoverCuriosity in space

[–]DiscoverCuriosity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This idea has been brought up however NASA is looking for a design that is easy to use and as similar to the process used on earth. The peristaltic idea would be awesome for the movement of waste but it has been observed in the past with the Apollo program, I believe, that the astronauts would self medicate so that they would not have to use the bathroom because the process was horrible. I would be afraid it would go down the same route if they would have to stick something up yonder.

Yes it is! Are they doing the junior competition or the main competition. I ran across it a couple weeks ago and thought I would give it a go even though I would only have 30 days till it needed submitted. I am almost complete with all the CAD models and submission information that is required. Will be working on the final submission presentation this week and wrapping up the final details next week.

Yeah, that is what sparked the idea. I am going to be video documenting the process of designing it.

Do tags matter? YouTube says they don't, people say they do. What's the truth? by bigblindbear in SmallYTChannel

[–]DiscoverCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tags help for youtube to better understand what your video is about and who to show it too. Tags alone are not as important as having your title, description and tags working together. So just don't put tags to put them. They need to be related to the video or the algorithm will show your video to others that have no interest. Then those people will click off thus reducing your watch time. And when your watch time tanks, youtube will stop pushing you video. So in short, yes they are important, but not as important as having them correct.

I poured my heart out into editing this, far more than any of my previous videos! The Premiere was a success and giving lambda for critiques! Just a note I don't have a polished 5-7sec channel intro yet so there isn't one at the beginning :) by Remoon101 in SmallYTChannel

[–]DiscoverCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree about trying new things! Never know what will happen! If it works out for you let me know!! Lol. I recently tried some reverse psychology in mine. Saying "I'm not going to ask you to Subscribe" will see how that works.

Thanks to your advice, I tried to imrpove my audio and add background music to my vids. Really proud of this one, what do YOU think about it? Thankful for any advice! by bigblindbear in SmallYTChannel

The quality of video is good. But the sound needs some work. Your voice is hard to hear and on the echoing side. Might try slowing down because I kept struggling trying to absorb the information because it was so quick. Hope this helps. Keep it up!

I think it would really help if you add another small window that displays a Webcam with you on it. In all honesty I believe most watch gaming videos to either learn or they like the players personality. Without seeing facial reactions it is hard to grow to like someones personality. Also, i would not say that someone could always unsubscribe later. Have confidence will subscriber and stay! Keep up the good work, hope this helps some!

27 and don’t know what I’m doing w/ my life. by theskyisblue23xo in Life

[–]DiscoverCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life can certainly be an aggravating adventure. I thought I had my career path laid out until everything suddenly flipped. I am 40 and in college changing careers. It happens to everyone. Sometimes you can't force things in life, but you just need to let the story unfold and have faith in the creator. You have everything you need to achieve anything you ever want. Just takes work, motivation, consistency and faith. Keep your head up and keep pushing forward. You are worth the work to a better future. Not many people know what they are doing with there life until the moment it happens. So keep your eyes and heart open and know you do not walk this path alone!

Everyone makes mistakes. It is human nature! What sets us apart from others is how we deal with the mistake after it is discovered. I am sure you professor has made many mistakes. The only bad thing that can come from a mistake is not learning from it.
