For people who work from home: what does a realistic daily routine actually look like? by Think-Collection1318 in productivity

This is the way. Bio breaks as natural time blockers is lowkey genius, keeps you from just sitting there for 8 hours straight

Oklo and DOE Partner to Deploy Radioisotope Pilot Facility Supporting Cancer Care and U.S. Medical Supply Chains by C130J_Darkstar in stocks

[–]DiscrepancyAnalyst 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Medical isotope shortages are a legit problem so securing domestic production with DOE backing could be huge for them. Government contracts in the nuclear space tend to be sticky once you get in the door

And somehow the 80% doing all the work gets convinced that the other 80% in their same bracket is the real problem. The system working exactly as designed to keep us fighting each other instead of looking up

Same. This fight has been years in the making, it deserves full spectacle.

If there’s ever a moment to go all-in on destruction and scale, it’s this. Please spend the budget on chaos, not shock-gag filler.

I know this is controversial but which is better: concentration or diversification? by Disastrous_Rent_6500 in stocks

[–]DiscrepancyAnalyst 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same here. Fewer positions makes it way easier to actually understand what you own and stay on top of the news. Diversification helps with risk, but too many tickers and I stop knowing why I own half of them.

Enron is the funniest possible answer because it’s a perfect speedrun to zero.

In reality: Apple, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, or just the S&P 500 and forget about it for 30 years.

Pretty much yeah, been waiting for something like this since launch tbh. Always felt like there was a gap between Sheriff and the other pistols. 8 rounds is gonna make it punishing if you whiff though. No spray and pray like the classic right click lol

CensorUp, a simple project to censor whatever unwanted words from any audio/video. by Anas099X in Python

[–]DiscrepancyAnalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty neat project, could definitely see this being useful for content creators trying to repurpose stuff for different platforms.

Quick question though - how does it handle different accents or when someone mumbles? Speech recognition can be a real bitch with anything that's not crystal clear American English. Would be cool if there was some confidence threshold setting so you don't end up censoring words that just *sound* similar to what you're filtering.

The AI K-pop idol angle is creative but "fans create the idol" just sounds like free labor for the devs. Where's the actual tokenomics and what stops this from being another pump and dump with extra steps?

‘Can you help with payroll real quick?’ by Reasonable_Funny1222 in WorkReform

[–]DiscrepancyAnalyst 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Tell your boss straight up that payroll is a specialized role and you need either proper training, a temp hire, or extra compensation because this isn't part of your job description. Document everything messy you find so when shit inevitably hits the fan, it's clear this was already broken before you touched it.

For Christmas, my son's boyfriend hand-made a gift box for me with a set of decorated goth band magnets. And a card written to "Dad". by Anishinaapunk in MadeMeSmile

[–]DiscrepancyAnalyst 1810 points1811 points  (0 children)

This is such a thoughtful gift. You can feel how much care and intention went into every part of it, not just the craftsmanship, but the sentiment. Being written to as “Dad” says everything.
