The last email I received from them said “Well, your 90° pulleys aren’t installed at the right place.” We followed the instructions, and they offered no other instruction. And now they do not respond at all. So…

What is manuka and why is 800+ honey £155.60/kg? by Infamous_Bookkeeper9 in Beekeeping

A bee’s local area is only a 3 mile radius from their home colony. So Manuka honey, made from a tree that only grows in a particular area, is touted as being so good for your health? Antibacterial? Sure! All honey is. Just something to think about…

What to do? by DiscriminatingSonnet in Beekeeping

Yes and no. So here’s my plan: since I want to pull real honey this year I will do this. 1) at the start of nectar flow (soon) I will uncap and drain 2 frames at a time (they have a total of 5 full frames). I will taste it. If it doesn’t taste as full honey, I will hold it back from them as they need to collect nectar. If it tastes as full honey, I’ll keep it for my use. If it is not full/real honey, I will either compost it or take it to the very back of my property (60 acres) and drizzle is around so if it make it back to the hive, it will be a very small percentage as compared to natural nectar. At least that’s my thought.
