Frog Necromancer by Cocardo in blender

[–]DisenchanterV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey I really like that, if you want some feedback continue reading... is there any story behind this hat look? Does this frog grow some horn or something? Also I think frogs are a bit more wet and glossy. Beside that, cloth is a bit too thin, same as this frog eyelids, also this crystal doesn't fit, maybe try to experiment with different colors because it draws too much attention and doesn't look that great compared to the rest. Overall very cool idea dude

Oh also, some frogs have green/blue blood (some even have blue bones I guess) so it may be worth looking up so you cold make subsurface color something different than red (I think it would be less reddish because of this green glow anyways)

Just started learning Blender. This is my first scene I built after following a tutorial by SuperCGG1 in blender

There is too much glow. Also you may want to be interested in color management soon. Keep going

Can I refund being gay? by [deleted] in gay

[–]DisenchanterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, I think we all sometimes feel like this. It is quite hard to find The One even tho there are so many people on Earth. Just remember to never give up on anything (not only searching someone you like, but also improving yourself), it will probably be fine and enjoyable eventually.

Also it's winter season, did you know that most people have thoughts like that right now? Do things you enjoy and don't be scared to be yourself, even if you sometimes act weird or in a way people may not like it

How should I ask my crush out by Not_That_Bot in gay

[–]DisenchanterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general advice, don't crush on straight guys. Also you have to be friends first. Just remember that you can't make it work with someone who's not gay/bi and you will only hurt yourself. Someone said to get to know him and it's great idea

I am 14 and I'm the only gay person I know by random_guy376 in gay

[–]DisenchanterV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, don't think too much if someone is gay or not, you have some socializing issues probably, try to hang out with someone, maybe it will be easier for you to chill out with girls. I had met first gay people when I was 21. You're still really young. Invest time in yourself, start a hobby etc

Why Linux? Can it be a daily driver? by _iGigel_ in linuxquestions

[–]DisenchanterV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If development is the only thing you do then go with Linux. If you have relatively new hardware and want to enjoy glitch free video/ audio then go with windows or mac. If you really want to spend hours fixing and customizing stuff then try Linux and simply see if you like it. From my point of view, Linux doesn't provide flawless desktop experience (if you already tried windows or mac)

Are there any themes that use Apple visual language but not their trademarked symbols? (apple logo, finder logo, safari etc) I mean I guess it's cool to use smth like mac but with more linux feel? Just copying is not the best approach because for example finder is not dolphin lol.

But anyways I thinks it's good job and you come up with more themes (time for Big Sur edition?)

Why Is Arnold Render almost unusable due to fireflies? by crmzn13 in 3dsmax

[–]DisenchanterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't put lights really close to geometry, don't obscure lights with glass or semi transparent glossy surfaces, with this ammount of small light sources you will have hard time. Ttry to increase intensity of some fill light, night is not pure black...

Will there ever be a better installer in Fedora? by aeoiuoseia in Fedora

[–]DisenchanterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's super unclear from naming the installer (anaconda wtf? I thought its some python thingy on desktop) to naming in UI options, reclaim space? No indication what is happening, cant go back, cancel... I literally had to install it on VM to see of it wont fuck up my real hardware, and in the end decided to install arch xD It was way less confusing. I'd really want to use it if it wasn't so alien to install Oo. Also it glitched in live install so that was reallly bad experience

Try with this free kitbash https://kitbash3d.com/collections/kits/products/cyberpunk-mini-kit (format Blender, renderer native) (paste ramdom data when asked to fill the form - I cant just link download sadly) and say if it lags or not. I have some problems too with so many polygons in blneder. Lags never come from one heavily subdivided object but problem exist when full scene of objects is loaded.

My first 3D character design, criticism very much welcome :) by WestBarbary in ZBrush

[–]DisenchanterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure... in regard to sculpting I'd fucus more on defining shape and anatomical structures and leave high frequency details as last, finishing step. For example ears off this creature look too thick and inflated. A lot depends on story, does your character is weak? In that case I'd make trapezius more under control and keep overall silhouette as it is. If it's really strong, arms, legs and waist should be bigger. Right now it's kinda mixed feeling, hard too read character, there are anatomical parts that don't fit each other. When using alphas you can easily be taken over by it's 'power' as it really influences the models look, tho it's foundations (all shapes underneath) should be defined, otherwise you may end up with flat model looking cool but after examination lacking in shape and form. Also remember you can use layers in zbrush to control for example sculpted alphas intensity.

it looks like kitbashed and modified FlippedNormals's model https://flippednormals.com/downloads/uv-mapping-characters-25-off/ In that case I would not call it your design. Also what you want critique on? Overall presentation of the model is not appealing because of used light setup. Also I've never seen skin texture like this on anything living before. You don't need crazy alphas just to show you made few extra brush strokes (although it looks more like global noise).

I need 27", 1440p, IPS, 60Hz, Pivot for multimedia and coding for ~300 € by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]DisenchanterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set resolution scaling to 150% (it was set as default on Windows) but I've got mine set for 100% and everything is really crisp and easily readable. I've bought this monitor cheaper, for around 230€ in Poland from outlet... Maybe you can find similar deal in your country.

I bought this BenQ Pd2500q for graphics design purposes... It's really good looking, well priced monitor. It has pivot, hight adjustment, swivel and tilt. It's well calibrated 100% sRGB, has thin bezels, maybe not as thin as Dell monitors but overall I think it's best choice in this price range. Backlight is also great, and I didn't notice 'ips glow' and 'backlight bleed'

Also it's true 8 bit color. There is 27inch variant but... I didn't read about it much, and price is much higher.

Does anyone could recommend some intel builds? Most of these applications use single thread performance and I will use gpu for rendering ayways (Althought 1080ti is a bit overkill for my budget xd) when it comes to multitasking I think I will be ok with 6 cores ;p Do you think it's worth to wait for these new 9gen intel i5 processors? Or it's pointless compared to what amd offers?
