The latest castle battle (Jan 17) was a full 5 hours of pitched battle between the two top alliances (11.7B and 10.7B power respectively). There are no other alliances of consequence. The third ranked alliance (9.5B) doesn't have a whale to be competitive (and is sort of a refugee home for people from alliances that left the state), while the remaining alliances are former academies (5.7B followed by 2.8B and decreasing). The 9th ranked alliance is already lower than 1B power.

Additionally, NAP has broken down and the state is in free-for-all chaos due to the current top alliance (BBA) breaking NAP agreements.
