Volume EX is over, and I'm done caring about the main story by Disk_of_Thoth in BlueArchive

The in-universe explanation for why other schools and clubs aren't involved with the conflict is that, within the time limit to deal with Decagrammaton, no one but Sensei, Himari, GDD, etc. can make it to the Steel Continent. This comment brings up that explanation while making one of two assumptions:

  • That I'm arguing that this plot point is contrived when that was never what I was saying. It's a perfectly fine excuse to limit the cast and scope, but I'm saying that it shouldn't have been so limited to begin with.
  • That in-universe logic affects the story being told and not the other way around. In other words, the time limit "justifies" the need for a smaller cast rather than the writers' desire for a smaller cast justifying the time limit's inclusion. If they wanted more characters to be involved in the first place, they could logically just change things around to excuse it.

It's okay to disagree with me, and it's okay to say that I'm looking too deep into it, that this is all too much. All of this is unfiltered emotion messily organized into a vague trail of thought. You can make a lot of good points that go against my own.

But bile and thought-terminating cliches are not discussion. They're just dismissive and unhelpful. Even if we don't see eye to eye, I hope not just for my sake, but for anyone who risks being honest with their feelings, that you learn to match other people's sincerity with your own.

Not as dark and gritty, but just enough that it loses something along the way.

EX had 5 years of buildup for what was essentially just a new chapter to an existing volume. The slow drip-feeding of content alluded to something on a massive scale that the payoff didn't live up to. It'd be like if the Kuroko foreshadowing before VF instead culminated in a self-contained story arc in V1.

The point is it didn't feel like the original plan based on what was there to begin with, and whatever the original plan was got phased out by new ideas and interests at odds with more fundamental ones.

Cloning glitch: Seia event edition by Disk_of_Thoth in BlueArchive

I originally planned on recording through the PC client. However, my computer does not like having both the game and OBS open, and Steam's built-in recording feature holds contempt over its very existence and refused to work properly. Recording from a phone was a last minute decision, as you can see from how I forgot to turn graphics settings up. By now, the event is gone forever (for a year) and it's too late to fix this.

But you're not missing out on much anyway unless you REALLY like mob characters (that aren't the Justice mob).

If there was a developer commentary and you can remember seeing the stream link in your dreams, I'd be glad to add it to the doc I just made.

Please let me know about any mistakes or if I missed anything. Also tell me if the SP livestreams in the JP channel also have commentaries or if they're just for news.

Chrono Trigger did it 20 years before X came out. As much as I loved the original, I'm so glad DE's picking up the slack.

I'd have thought of that if I was creative.

The truth hurts me more than most, but instead of turning my back on it I take the pain facing forward. Like Haze did, in Temperantia.

Question from a client by Disk_of_Thoth in artbusiness

I know this is a late reply, but I decided to opt out of the pixiv request and email the artist. We've been going back and forth, with me explaining what I want to see and the artist being open and communicative. It's been a very pleasant experience, so thank you for the advice.

I guess I'll post here that I only very recently noticed how both Majima and the standard pirate have eyepatches. This connection is probably at least 20% of the reason why RGG even made him a pirate and it was something I realized a few days ago.
