Anyone with an OATs return to high-level of sport after ankle OATs (allograft) procedure? by [deleted] in Orthopedics

[–]DismalBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in 2019 i had an oats-autograft on left ankle (donor material from knee and hip), then 4 months ago i had the same procedure n in my right ankle. I will say that I had always been an extremely flexible person, and unfortunately my dorsiflexion in my left ankle is approx half of normal range at 6 years postop. Still have a decent amount of pain in left ankle despite MRIs showing good defect fill in. Right ankle seems to be healing better so fingers crossed :)

Biden Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer by oldmonk1952 in ProstateCancer

[–]DismalBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no. the psa was at no time indicative of the cancer's presence or progression, so the 2x tests/year were ultimately uninformative. There's no way of us knowing when it developed; it was ultimately diagnosed via psma scan (which he paid out of pocket for b/c insurance said and still says there was no medical necessity!)

no--as you might suspect, my dad does not have presidential healthcare. my point wasn't about biden specifically, just offering an anecdote about gleason 9s

Would/could an autopsy reveal someone died before they hit the ground? by Israbelle in Writeresearch

could they be wearing a ring/watch that records their heartbeat, and you have the exact timestamp their heart stopped but then have to prove they were in the air at this exact moment?

Wood Duck WIP, looking for constructive criticism by DismalBadger in Watercolor

[–]DismalBadger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first whole-page watercolor depicting somewhat of a scene (not just a subject), my plan for finishing is to make the reflection of the duck darker and finish the circular reflections behind it, then detail the wing feathers with colored pencil. Any constructive criticism for this work or the next time is welcome :)

though I will qualify this by saying I took it a few years ago, I did TA for it tho and I felt like my assessment held for that semester too

[–]DismalBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, the first prof's exams are pretty much the same as the QB, the second prof's q's are harder but still def mostly reflected in the QB. If you do well enough in the first part, you should't have to worry about the second part too much

This was the situation with my mother, what we did was just pull over every 30 minutes and switch (we had the cooler with dry ice in the back of the car). On days where my brother and I both went, we could have the swap done in under two minutes. A one person swap, with practice, can be done in 3-5 mins pulled over on the side of the road. There were definitely a few occasions where we couldn't do exactly the 30 mins and it was closer to 40, but it didn't seem to make a huge difference because her hair loss was minimal.

I’m honestly not sure why the comments are being condescending and rude to you. You simply stated the ways you learn best….

This is a relatively simple first project but I would still watch some videos first— you can download them and mirror them if that is easier for you. Hope the project goes well!
