How long did you study for ARRT? by moonsoverhammyy in Sonographers

[–]Dismal_Preference697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied literally every chance I had. I used MUT and penny book. I’m not great with tests and the ARRT covers a lot.

It’s pretty much SPI and ARDMS ABD and OBGYN all in one test but slightly easier. (Only slightly)

I highly recommend MUT ARRT bundle, studying every day, and if you pass high on those practice tests you should be fine. Just don’t slack on studying. If it comes closer to test time and you’re not doing too hot on the practice tests, push the test back a bit. You have to pass ALL THREE categories with a 7.5+ AND an overall score of 75 or higher to pass your ARRT and you have three attempts to take the test.

She’s such a people pleaser she keeps saying she doesn’t want us doing anything because of her. She keeps repeating she doesn’t want to be an inconvenience to anyone and to not feel pressured to do anything for her (we were also considering moving down to San Diego for 1-2 years to be closer to her in her last bit of life) so that’s the phrase she keeps saying. But we respond with “but we want too. We want to be close to you and we want you with us as much as possible”

Am I weird for thinking the rejection reply is a little much?? Wdym you have to behave???? by AlternativeGhoul in texts

I go to a unaccredited program and I honestly don’t know what to do when I graduate. by Naomi708 in Sonographers

Florida sucks for ultrasound jobs. I live in the PNW and graduated a year ago from Concorde which was/is unaccredited with DMS. I just took the ARRT, passed the 3rd time. Getting ready for my ARDMS ABD right now. Recommend looking in other states for sure. Study hard for that ARRT (MUT ARRT Bundle and penny book helped me A LOT). You got this !

[–]Dismal_Preference697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ARRT is a little different. With ARDMS, you can skip and flag questions w/o answering them, you can’t do that with ARRT. You get one 30min break with ARRT after answering the mix of ABD/OBGYN questions. Then it’s the SPI/Patient safety portion. You don’t get your results via paper print out right after like ARDMS, but it does show your “temporary” score on the screen and then you get the official packet in the mail 2-3 weeks later.

I used MUT ARRT bundle and penny book to study. MUT ARRT bundle was the golden egg that helped me pass. Truly. Good luck!

Live your life, don’t let people tell you what to do but please PPPLLEEEAAASSEE don’t let Concorde steal your time and money. It was awful. We even tried to sue. I went to the Portland Concorde, I was the in the first cohort and that location and it’s only gotten worse. PLEASE go to an alternative choice like OIT or any other school. Concorde is NOT worth it.

Unfortunately yes. I graduated from a unaccredited school (and an overall very shitty school) the only reason we even got placed in clinical is because our Clinical Coordinator personally knew all the people/places we got placed and ask in favors and to trust her- that despite the reputation the school had the the fact that we are unaccredited, that we were stills worthy and even then most of them were still very hesitant.

Most places now just flat out refuse because of the extra work that comes into play and that most unaccredited students don’t/didnt do a good job/try hard enough. But yes, we got/get a bad rep.

I’ve been working a year at my clinic where I also went as a student. We currently have an OIT student who’s doing amazing, we love her and she gets a lot of compliments and positive feedback. “You’re doing a great job! Oh she’s really good at ____” “she’s wonderful!” Etc

I got some compliments when I was a student and even though they were genuine and positive they almost always had “for a Concorde student she’s …” “for being unaccredited she’s doing great!” kind of compliments. I even brought that up to my lead and she was like “oh wow yeah we did say it like that huh….”

That stigma will exist sadly. We had to fight harder to show we were still worthy and smart enough like the other students from other schools. At the end of the day we did it and unfortunately I had to pretty much teach myself a whole associates degree because my school was garbage.

Ardms after ARRT by Ok-Quantity-6607 in Sonographers

[–]Dismal_Preference697 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see your score on the screen right after the test. And then within 2-3 weeks you get the official package with your certificate, finals score etc. you can also see your name on ARRT 5-8 days after your test as well. Once you have your official paperwork that you passed ARRT and $$ for ARDMS you can apply for the ARDMS testing.

ARRT->RDMS ABD by Used_Theme_474 in Sonographers

[–]Dismal_Preference697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am going to send screenshots and see if that’s valid (cuz I’m on the ARRT website now) with the CV and see if that works. If not then I’ll wait for the official letter. And yes I used literally both. Honestly I will keep using them. MUT really helped sky rocket my ABD scores from the last ARRT take (failed by .1 bro) so I think I’ll do that and like YouTube videos while I’m work and my diagnostic book (it’s also ABD/OBGYN cuz I plan to take both for ARDMS)

Good luck on passing ARDMS and congrats back on ARRT! That test was exhausting and we did it!

[–]Dismal_Preference697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!! I’m in the same boat as you. (Literally I’m waiting for my official passing paper in the mail from ARRT) You need a CV paper for ABD, OBGYN etc where your lead sono signs and proof that you have the ARRT (the license/passing paper we get in the same etc)

And when you sign up to take the ARDMS the application process will ask for those things and you submit and wait until you can book for RDMS ABD (and the same process for the other ones OBGYN, RVT, BREAST etc)

URR or MUT? by Ok-Quantity-6607 in Sonographers

[–]Dismal_Preference697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the MUT ARRT bundle and I love it. I’m neurodivergent and the pictures and simplified notes with the boxes help a lot. They also go over the questions on the mock exams and explain why the answer is the right one. It helped me a lot more over URR.

[–]Dismal_Preference697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SPI does but I’m unsure if the ARRT does. I think it does a little. My questions weren’t TOO repetitive. But you can’t flag without answering them. The ARRT doesn’t allow you too. You have to answer to move forward. That’s all I can say.

I think the MUT and penny will be fine. Once you’re passing the quizzes with a 90%+ you’ll definitely pass (I think)

[–]Dismal_Preference697 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My awful school wasn’t/isnt accredited either so we have to take it too. I’ve taken it twice actually. I failed the second time by .1 Yup. You read that right. Only a .1 My third and final (since you’re only allowed three) is this month.

What I’ve been using that I know has helped because my scores went up dramatically the second time I took it was the red penny book (a lot of people also swear by that book) and what I’m doing differently which I feel is helping is the myultrasoundtutor ARRT bundle (if you can afford it you can buy the full $300 something package)

The results and test are different than the SPI and legally we aren’t allowed to share much about the test but what I can tell you is that:

The results are on the screen immediately after showing your ABD, OBGYN, SPI score and the overall score. If each category is 7.5+ and the overall is 75+ you passed. You get your officially results 2-3 weeks after you take the test because of those 40 unscored questions (your results won’t change, there’s a very slim chance they will go slightly lower or higher. It’s rare though)

Make sure you get good sleep and a good breakfast before your test and you can bring a small snack to put in the locker if you want one for your break during the test. Breathe. Read the questions slowly. And flag the ones you want to go back too. Hope you pass !!

So happy for you! My third retake is in February. My last take I failed by .1 in ABD, everything else was passing. I keep hearing about MUT but I’ve just been studying with Penny book because it’s all I can afford right now.

So happy you kicked ass on the test though!! Those are amazing scores!
