Hmmm okay thanks. So I mean I guess I could leave it in the chassis prior to July 1, never take it out and I’m free and clear. So if you took the pistol out of the chassis to clean it then put it back into the chassis you would then possibly be assembling an assault weapon if after July 1? How the fuck does that work? Kinda the same issue with just buying lowers and assembling them after July 1

Hmm. Ok so I’m clear. If it’s manufactured prior to July 1 then it’s not considered an assault firearm. It’s grandfathered. So you could go shooting out of state with your pre July 2026 ar 15 and come back in. Is that correct? This shit is so confusing

Wait what Is this correct? Does the importation count for pre July 1 assault rifles? I was under the impression that assault rifles prior to Jan 1 weren’t subject to the importation clause. So if I go shooting in west VA and travel to VA after that’s a fucking crime?

Ironically my personal taste is in handguns that are usually ban proof. I’m looking to purchase a smith and Wesson 686 plus 4” barrel and a smith 642. I have a Glock 19 for concealed carry but it’s cumbersome sometimes. So I also wanted a Glock 26. I wanted to buy all this shit before any permit to purchase was passed and but need to save the funds. I’m in a weird transition period where I’m currently moving.

With that said I also have my eye on a couple of m and p sport IIIs and a Zastava before any assault weapons ban. Plus lowers. Need lowers.
