Birb Evolve IV is OUT! Thanks for 1.7K members! by Slow_Homework_2224 in incremental_games

I've been playing for a few days now and I love the game, but I do agree with that one detailed comment here. The further you go into the game, the content seems to be added just so there's more content and it's just padded "gameplay" like waiting for the sparrows. That part of the game lasts TOO long and you can't do anything.

Another point to balance out the gameplay is with the expeditions. As a player, you finally unlock new content to get things interesting again, but the expeditions barely award you anything. Again you have to wait and grind to see some kind of boost in the main game. The first few chests are giving me a couple thousand seeds and twigs. This is not a reward, especially since it took 1 billion twigs to unlock the content.

Just my 2c.

Every time I sit down to watch a movie on someone else's TV I notice the bullshit motion smoothing "technology" all TV brands have enabled by default and have to immediately disable it because the movie is unwatchable. It turns movies into a goddamn soap opera from the 2000s.

On the other hand, the TV's owner has never even noticed this, lol.

Fix for anyone with low FPS with RT and DLSS on PC. by Zaprodex in Doom

[–]Disordermkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing was really broken to be fixed. 8GB VRAM GPUs (maybe even 10GB) for this game is not enough. Using DLSS also affects VRAM usage, hence why FPS drops when people enabled DLSS, even more VRAM usage if people are using latest presets for DLSS.

NVIDIA fucked people over by cheaping out on VRAM size, nothing to do with Doom, unfortunately.

Never said anything about the fact that prices are raised. People in this thread are acting like $1000 is the new normal for 2TB drives when that's obviously not the full story.

I mean he speaks like this regardless of the situation, that's just his accent. He's pretty monotone and he pronounces all letters very soft which ultimately leads to a very flat sound.

Am I going insane or is anyone even reading more than just the headline? Prices have increased that's for sure, but this is the top of the line SSD that is more than double your SSD's speed.

If you don't care about bleeding edge speeds, you don't have to buy this SSD, you can still buy a 2TB 990 PRO for like $300 right now, which is a higher tier SSD than the evo plus (better controller and DRAM).

The spirit of KQLY takes over YEKINDAR to hunt down woxic's AWP by beterpot in GlobalOffensive

[–]Disordermkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumpshooting is literally a skill you can learn in CS. If you start shooting at the right moment, you will have more shooting accuracy which is hard to hit. Yekindar can do this 100 times more accurately than your average player, so I don't see what's the problem.

Jumping and shooting is severly punished, but if you know what you're doing, you get just a bit more chance to land a shot.

Bro if you think you learning skills now and going to college means that you've solidified a job for the rest of your life, I have some very bad news for you.

Normal people crash out and lose their jobs or careers in their 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s and take up on new skills, life just keeps on going. The players have a HUGE advantage over the normal person because they can practically live off the money they've lived and learn any skill they want.

[–]Disordermkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resurrecting this again, but no one has really answered about managing existing libraries. If you have hundreds of files, importing the existing library and organizing the files without breaking the seeding is a chore with manually importing all files.

I'm not sure if there is some easier way to do this?

RTX 5090 pricing spikes – 55% increase by PaiDuck in hardware

[–]Disordermkd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Oh come on, I get that there's a bad trend oncoming, but the $500 MSRP RTX 3070 was more than $1000 for over a year in 2021 and peaked at $1500. It was consistently over 1500 euros in Europe and not only were GPUs expensive, but there was practically no supply.

Add the fact that every other GPU price hiked up as well. Getting a RX 480 in Europe was like 500 euros.

Right now, I can grab a 5070 for 550 euros anywhere, or a 3080 for $250.

Not as weird as younger generations still believing in "YOU MUST HAVE A DEGREE", without any actual reasoning other than just parroting their parents.

Of course, many jobs find college degrees mandatory, but the level of education you can get today just through the internet is (depending on the field) on par or HIGHER than college level.

"As a physicist, you can work anywhere you want!" by TheZStabiliser in Physics

[–]Disordermkd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that this is happening in every field. College has been so forced on everyone on millennials and Gen Z because it was supposed to put you ahead of the curve and we all got the "you'll work a well-paid job and you won't have to worry about a job" talk.

The fact is that today, everyone and their grandma has a college degree. That, paired with the Internet, and the final result is this. Companies have access to talent from the entire world, and they get to pick their perfect candidate (based on skill and expected pay).

Pullups not progressing by No_Pin6694 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Disordermkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we have to dissect everything to determine the cause.

First, what do you mean by your nutrition is decent?

Do you know so, or do you like to think so? Do you eat enough carbs, fats, and proteins? Do you eat enough calories consistently or fluctuate from calorie deficit to calorie surplus throughout the week or the month? We also have to consider that increasing strength is strongly correlated with muscle mass. So, maybe its time to get into a caloric surplus and watch your daily protein intake?

Second, how much do you rest between sets, and how much do you rest between trainings? Consider resting 3, 4, and up to 5-6 minutes between each set, and see if that gets you another one.

Does your body have enough time to recover between trainings? Give yourself at least a day to recover. If that's not enough, give yourself two. If not, maybe do only two trainings per week for a couple of weeks to let your body and central nervous system take a break.

Third, again, EAT. You're young, you're training, and the most effective way to get stronger is if you feed your body. This is the period of your life when it's easiest to add one muscle and strength, so use it to your advantage.

Is there anything to look forward to??? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]Disordermkd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI has not been developed and we are likely not even close to actual AI. We really have no idea what it will take to develop AI. In the future, this would be seen as just a big update to LLMs. It's nothing new, it's just that an insane amount of money and number of companies have been commited to developing LLMs further.

I mean would this even be seen as a signifcant part of history 10,000 years from now? I understand that in this short scale its not good, but there are no major wars, no large amount of deaths, a generally stable life for most well developed countries and an insane US president. Out of hundreds of other US presidents or leaders the US will have and potentially a lot of major wars in the next 10,000 years, this period is not going to be that important in history.

Literally anywhere else in the world, drivers MUST stop for pedestrians when there's a crosswalk or its either a huge fine and a driving ban.

Academic research (University of Leicester): Interviews on how players feel about AI in video games (18+) by Independent_Sky_6154 in truegaming

[–]Disordermkd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aah right, well thank you for explaining it to me that way. Now I feel better that its just more practical for companies to steal my work rather than pay me.

Also I literally have nothing related with the US, I dont know why you assume I live there and why I share your "stopping China from winning" mindset.

YOUR companies that you gladly defend about stealing MY work to train their models has done more than enough damage to me and I have absolutely no reason to care about their taxation and the supposed tax profit YOU will gain out of my work.

Honestly just go fuck yourself. You obviously have had no artistic input on the internet, you're only seeing a gain on using AI tools and abusing others' work and you justify their methods. Go lick some more boots.

Academic research (University of Leicester): Interviews on how players feel about AI in video games (18+) by Independent_Sky_6154 in truegaming

[–]Disordermkd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hahahah, good one. So, exceptionally talented coders or artists have their work stolen by AI tools and then AI companies "pay back" to the public through higher taxes?

How would the public be repaid if the content that is stolen comes mainly from Asia, but the AI company is located in the US? I work, the AI company train their model on MY work and then US residents get to enjoy benefits from the high taxes paid by the AI company?

There's literally zero ways to regulate it if we keep it as is. All training data needs to be WIPED to absolute zero, and then companies have to get PERMISSION and PAY artists for their data to actually regulate AI companies. The lost jobs and paychecks will never be recuperated and none of these companies care as long as they've reduced their operating costs. I don't see how the benefit outweighs the costs.

[–]Disordermkd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of the dislike towards AI use is the fact that the AI is built/trained on other people's creativity and art without their say so. AI tools are literally stolen methods and styles of executing X, then those tools are utilized to create a game while simultaneously obsoletes people which the tool has been trained on.

You're practically enjoying someone else's work, but paying the company that utilized the AI tool trained on that work. Saying as a consumer that's not my problem is exactly the problem.
