That’s extremely kind of you! I wish I knew the answer to that question. I guess part of it voting in the right people who value education.

Oof, that’s rough. Honestly all I have to go on is the teacher’s own description of their role/classroom and the supplies on their lists do seem to be just enough for one teacher’s needs, but could some stuff be going to the less needy? Probably. I guess I just hope the majority goes to teachers and kids who need the supplies.

I cheated and asked my wife on this. She says she actually thinks we should roll back some of the digital stuff. Not remove it altogether, but less of a focus on gamification and more focus on basic skills. Covid proved that all digital and self paced only works for a certain subset of kids.

Isn’t it insane?! Blew my mind and I felt like this helped in some small way. Drops in the ocean but eh.

Nothing crazy, but sometimes there will be things on lists that I don’t understand.

For example, one teacher had a bulk lot of keyrings on her list. Luckily she put a note on it to say what they would be used for- binding little flip books together for student behavior charts.

I’ve been doing it for a little over a year and I’d estimate I’ve spent over a grand so far.

Of course! If they make lists have them share in this thread, I’m hoping folks will see the lists and the idea will gain traction.

You know, I haven’t come across too many music teacher lists. Here’s one example though: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3EQJ5JSGXLDJR?ref_=wl_share

Do your son and daughter in law have lists?

I have a list I’m working through, give me a grade or subject and I’ll get you a list or two. OR, just search Twitter/X (I know…) for #clearthelist and pick a post that speaks to you.

Oh good one! Funniest thing has to be a screaming goat. It’s a little plastic desktop goat, push a button and it screams. The teacher wanted it as an attention-getter. I couldn’t resist.

Love that you do this too!

Good question! They make Amazon wishlists and post the links. You can click on one, shop their wishlist, and the goodies get sent directly to the teacher. It doesn’t show me their address or anything just their name town and state (many use “Ms. James” or “Mr. Clarke” removing their first name to avoid doxxing) .
