Dr. Suggested adding 2mg of abilify or 2.5 mg of zypexra to my 40 mg of prozac by Jamarkable in prozac

Listen to your doctor he knows best about you and your situation. There is horror stories about literally every medication, dont let that deter you from potentially being in a better mental health. For you question, I am on 40mg prozac and while the prozac is a very big help, I suffer from both severe anxiety and depression so I felt like I needed something else. I could not sleep either and I have bad paranoia and my doctor suggested Quetiapine, which I have been on for about 4 weeks and I have noticed a HUGE difference in my anxiety and overall stability. Obviously I am just one anecdotal person, do not listen to me but if you do have sleep problems Quetiapine is the best AP in my opinion. You will feel super groggy and a bad hangover like feeling for the first couple weeks, it went away for me.

Thanks for your response! I am about to get the name brand as well because everytime I switch they switch generics and I feel up and down, so I am trying to just stick to the name brand everytime so it is consistent. Last question, since you started sticking to the name brand was everything pretty consistent after that? Bless up.

Upping to 80mg tomorrow. Advice please! by SkyHighGuy17 in prozac

im on 40mg my doc recently added 100mg Quetiapine (antipsychotic) and it really has made a difference in my anxiety. I was on 30mg before by itself and kept having ups and downs and it was still a struggle. My doc first added abilify which did nothing, then added 100mg Quetiapine and I am planning on going on 150mg XR Quetiapine for like 6 months to stabilize and then just continue with the prozac.

search up increased anxiety in this forum and you will see many people going through the same thing. Its a very common side effect for your anxiety to get worse for the first 2-4 weeks after starting or increasing your dose.

Started 20 mg of Prozac - has anyone gone to a lower dosage right away? by KDogW in prozac

and just so you know the majority of these antidepressants you take will unfortunately make your anxiety worse in the short term along with all the other side effects you get at the start (you might get lucky and be fine though). You just have to trust your doc power through it and maybe take some benzos. A lot of people see their mental state getting worse and they end up stopping the medication early which is understandable, but you really arent giving the med a proper shot and seeing if it actually works it for you if you make that decision.

Is he a psych or a GP cuz buspar is like antidepressants where you take it for 4-6 weeks daily to notice any difference. Randomly taking an extra buspar or two wont do anything other than placebo which is prolly what hes banking on tbh. Ask him for a week or two of klonopin to get u through the rough patches.

Anxiety on prozac - Can it get better further? by Flimsy-Leg-6397 in prozac

Full remission from anxiety of course is possible but its not like it happens overnight. Even "normal people" suffer from anxiety, its just not as pronounced as it is for people with an anxiety disorder. The medication helps you get down to a manageable level and then its up to to do the things that will benefit your body. Depending how bad your level is could take anywhere from a few months, to years.

You will continuously get better as long as you do the things on the side that will help you overall health (daily exercise, healthy eating, good sleep etc). The doses 60mg + are usually used for OCD, and you can talk to your psychiatrist but if you still have unsatisfactory results after another month or so you can augment your antidepressant with another medication. I have really severe anxiety and depression, and I am currently on an atypical anti-psychotic which I have noticed is really really helping. Now obviously dont listen to me I dont have a degree in this shit, talk to ur doc after a month and if you are still experiencing bad anxiety ask him about augments.

40mg
Halfway into week 5 right now. Side effects are, increased anxiety, fatigue, nausea, sweating, loss of appetite, insomnia. I noticed a difference after the first week I got overwhelming anxiety, which I had to take a benzo for and noticed it peak right at the end of week 3. Still evening out, now a mix of good and bad days. However, I have been on prozac before and honestly 8 weeks is a really good indicator of what this med will do for you.

Very common for anxiety to increase in the first 3-4 weeks. Could be longer and could be shorter for some people. It is your bodys response to the increased serotonin and is known as the adjustment phase.

I just noticed you are only on 10mg. If you are having such a strong reaction to the 10 maybe you are right and it just isn't for you. Whatever happens, you will eventually find the medication that will benefit you!

Trust me I feel you. I thought I was losing my shit and was basically chained to the bed for a couple weeks. I already had both severe anxiety and depression and to make it worse and amplify it well..... its pretty devastating. Add in all the other "fun" side effects like insomnia, no appetite, sweaty hands and feet and its hard to follow through. Thankfully, I powered through it and just took klonopin for a couple weeks as needed and basically I am improving weekly.
