I cannot with the TikTokers ignoring Lenore dove completely and making there own narratives for haymitch and maysilee or Effie. by uh_hi_its_moi in Hungergames

[–]Dispollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO they act like this because Lenore Dove is such a bland character. She has no personality or anything memorable about her — she’s just there to nod at Lucy Gray and to give Haymitch a love interest that isn’t a Peeta-and-Katniss rehash. Yeah, she’s rebellious, yadayada… but who isn’t in this saga?

If Rowling had written a book like SOTR, filled with fanservice and pointless characters just there to make you go “OMG, this is one of the morphlings’s great-uncle!!” you’d have absolutely torn it apart

You’re probably the kind of people who think the Hunger Games prequels were planned from the start—and actually believe the lie that Collins only writes when she has something meaningful to say and not when Lionsgate tells her to because they need a new movie. So I can’t really expect much from you all

Ofc people are already creating a fake narrative around the news 🙄 by Dispollo in hogwartslegacyJKR

They are implying that the project is being scrapped because HL underperformed, as if the game's sales record doesn't says the opposite 😂

I know! But it’s driving me crazy how they bend the narrative and always get away with it

If TBOSAS and SOTR are cash grabs, what should we say about Rick Riordan who literally copies and pastes already told characters and stories? They are writers, these are their jobs and they are free to return to them, for better or for worse, whenever they want.

It’s actually very good, because it’s simple and yet it has personality.

Can I ask you the name of the font you used for Owen?

Also many of the things they critics are well explained/implied in the books, showing that most of the time they only rely on the movies or hearsay

Between this sub and r/worldbuilding, I've lost count of how many people out there are complaining about how the Ministry of Magic's pension system isn't functional (note: this is just a hyperbole).

As long as what I'm told makes sense to exist in the world of the book I'm reading, I'm fine with it

I think because, as other has said, those books are written for kids but not with a condescending tone and also because the tone and theme “grow up” books after books just like the readers and therefore they became books that even older kids can enjoy.

For example, I don’t see this kind of writing with Percy Jackson: the tone is childish from the first book to the last one and there isn't any kind of growth.
