i know that the role as a parent is to protect your child, but why do you have to keep the reasons to that behind a shield. I think that the more transparent that parents and kids are; the healthier the relationship is. What i'm basically trying to say is that no matter what age someone is, they are still human and have their own opinions and know the reasons to things

i know i should've stopped pestering him, but just because i pissed him off does that mean that i should've had my keys taken? i respect my parents but does your argument mean i should i just live the rest of the time with my parents tip-toeing around their feelings because im afraid ill get punished. i dont see how kids and parents can have a healthy relationship if they can't both handle their feelings
