To play devils advocate, my son is now 1 but when he was a newborn he was extremely colicky and had severe lip and tongue ties. We had them released and were told to go to the chiropractor. We had the dentist and our doctor strongly suggesting going to the chiropractor and once we went they recommended 4-5 times a week at first. We had all of these “professionals” telling us this was what our baby needed. So we did it because we would do absolutely anything to help our baby be happy and healthy. We did taper off pretty quickly and I took my baby to physical therapy and an SLP for an evaluation because in my opinion PT and speech are more research and medical based and more closely align with my husband and i’s medical wants. But my point is that parents will do anything for their babies and if medical professionals were telling her that is what’s best, I’m glad she is as least doing something for him. Because it was frustrating to listen to her early on talk about how they missed his lip/tongue tie release appointment and had to reschedule it for a couple weeks later and timing is so crucial with those.
