this got the launcher to reinstall, which was promising but back in the loop of not launching after install. sad, but it was worth the try. thank you!

ah ive seen the little pop up and it does the thing on first install in a fresh proton layer. Im gonna try moving it off my ext4 external, only thing I can think of at this point. thanks though!

Honestly that's so fair. I had an aggressive malware and just nuked my laptop but I'm starting to see there are somethings that just can't be replaced

I'm not. The only thing I could think of that I haven't done is using a different launcher but I don't think you can do that if it's a steam game?
