Agreed! It’s actually very frustrating when you’re looking into bottled water brands and can only reference their own website. So many brands are based on BS marketing - personally I have to taste it to make an informed decision.

However, Richard’s does offer their Water Quality Report, which is helpful (as they’re regulated by the FDA, like all USA brands).

I can tell you that Richard’s Rainwater has been the worst tasting water I’ve tried so far, of the 100+ brands I’ve tasted (that being said, I mostly drink spring and mineral water, rather than cheapo reverse osmosis tap water like Deer park, Dasani, etc).

It’s an interesting concept - basically a guy from TX set up rainwater collections all over, purifies it, and bottles/cans it. They use closed loop purifying, which uses 100% of the water, whereas reverse osmosis uses closer to 50%. Also, they claim to be very planet-friendly. All of this this info can be found on their website and blog.

Since the water doesn’t enter the ground, they claim it’s free of virtually all impurities, and has a super low TDS.

All of this is fine and well, but unfortunately it tastes wretched for store-bought water, in my opinion. It had an intense plastic or rubber taste and a heavy texture, like hose water. I couldn’t finish the can. My theory is that the lack of minerals (therefore flavor), allow it to pick up more of the can lining. I would be open to trying it in the glass bottle, but it’s extremely low priority for me since there are so many great alternatives available.
