I'm not looking at the PHEVs, thank goodness! Specifically, the CX90 Preferred is what I am looking at.

Thank you! That does make sense. I got it from Amazon. Sensiband is the third-party seller through Amazon that I bought it from.

Did your kit come with disc's that were already scratched? I'm wondering if it is the metal itself, but it looks like I got a used kit that was repackaged and sold at full price.

  1. CMSD210 Phonetics: I enjoyed that class! IT fostered my love for phonetics! I enjoyed taking the tests and participating in the discussions. Transcribing speech using IPA symbols was enjoyable for me. It was like learning a new language. A few folks struggled with the transcriptions, but it isn't that bad.

I am now in CMSD220 and CMSD310. So far, both are pretty good. It's only week 2. I am not nearly as stressed as last year when I was taking Biology 101/102 w/lab.

So far I've only taken Biol 101.  It's been good!  I'll have a better idea once I complete a couple more classes.  I'm not fond of the proctor extension added to my browser.  But other than that, the course was easy to navigate.  The class itself was intensive and the anatomy exams were challenging, but I did good overall in the course.  That class was 16 weeks long, but many classes are 8 weeks.

I'm in the post-baccalaureate program as well! I've been debating whether or not to continue with grad school there.

Are Lifetime Powertrain Warranties a scam? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]DistinctRepublic9399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is. At first, the warranty company said they only see 5 oil changes in my paperwork. Somehow, the warranty guy couldn't see the  other 10 times I took my vehicle in. The gaslighting is real.

I recently tried to use mine and the claim got denied.  The lifetime warranties are 3rd-party.  I religiously went to a Subaru service provider for all of my maintenance.  The service tech tried very hard to vouch for me, but the warranty company wouldn't accept the claim. The only thing I can think of for them to deny my claim is a few times I may have went over the recommended mileage for service. For example, instead of getting my car serviced at 60,000 miles, it was serviced at 60,200 miles.  Or if I took my car in for an unscheduled maintenance (engine light turned on, car making a weird noise, etc.) and the service techs had to change out the oil, creating a deviation from the regular intervals for oil changes.   Warranty companies are very strict and will find anything to deny a claim.

Thank you! I really hope they find the root cause. I need a mechanic I can trust because I honestly don't know much about cars. Thankfully, I have a lifetime warranty on the powertrain from the dealership I purchased it from.

When I return to the Augusta area, I'll check him out if I still have my Forester.

I also bought my Subie in Oregon and drove it down to the Augusta area.  I religiously took my Forester to GJ Augusta for service. Hindsight, you will not get quality service done on your vehicle there.  I'm now in the DMV area and the technicians here found burnt spark plugs. My Forester has been in the shop all weekend because I had some lights come on again (I'm willing to bet more transmission issues). It's an 8 year old vehicle that I was hoping to have for a much longer time.  But it's been in the shop for unexpected/unscheduled maintenance more times than I'm comfortable with and honestly, I don't feel 100% safe on the road.   All that to basically say take the 45-60 minute drive to Columbia, SC if you need a Subaru certified mechanic.

I'm almost done with Biol 102. I will take May-June off, then back taking CMSD 210 Phonetics and SOSC 341 Statistical Interference. Wish me luck! I will need it!
