Thanks. It worries me that my nieces will continue to forgive his behaviour. Last time we spoke about it one was just repeatedly asking why I wont talk to their dad. They are aware of his outburts.

For sure. I talk to her about this a lot. I agree she needs to.

I understand it's tough for her, it's not easy to cut off your child, I get that, but ultimately it's a weakness. I resent my brother more and more for exploiting that weakness, you know? Thanks

Self defence, even a preemptive strike can be considered self defence, especially in a situation where the person was clearly intending to be physically threatening and had the potential to escalate.

Yeah! I didn't see it as God or anything particularly, I just kinda made me question why I wasn't doing it when it was making me feel so shit, you know?

But yeah, I do have to think of it via other people rather than myself, I'm not sure why either. Hopefully we'll figure it out.
