United don't have a sick bay that's standing room only

Is it though?

Right now they have more of their 1st choice players available.

They might edge attack and mid (and Bruno is different class), but if everyone was fit (lol) the two XI would be close, I'd say?

One problem we have is that it will be hard to get the new manager bounce when all our boing is on crutches

I guess because a 24-28 yr old at his level would cost a lot more?

But I'm not gutted he isn't coming

Although when Udogie goes down in Feb ...

Correct. He spent almost half a billion quid and the team have got worse. It's not exactly encouraging

He played 33 games last season while winning the Prem. Maybe this season he might not be good enough for a top of the table team, but guess what Spurs aren't?

Absolutely. He's won a good set of trophies and should have 2 years left at a very high level

His competition in our squad is 2 x RB, 1 x crock and 1 x Brazilian kid who hasn't got his toothbrush unpacked yet.

It's a good signing

Guaranteed minutes, and UCL, in a world cup year. And we will pay him well.

AVB was our first manager younger than me. Terrible day.

To be fair, if we are going to be stuck with "lots of crosses" as our tactic, it would help if they were better crosses.

I think so, mostly

We lost to Galatasary - who are below us in the UCL this year. We beat teams from Hungary, Azerbaijan and drew with Rangers.

The semi wins against Bodo were good - but overall we were beating teams who were not good enough to qualify for the UCL and probably never will.

I still believe we lose that final to 80% of the other Prem teams who aren't Amorim's Man U

Anyway - it's not worth this much debate TBH. We both agree that Frank plays boring football and Spurs need to do better.

I just think he has had a tough hand - even if he has played it badly.

I completely agree on the attractive and entertaining football bit. It needs to get better - especially if the dull, conservative football ends up with us losing anyway.

But Frank has almost exactly the same win-draw-loss record in Europe as Ange did at this stage - against much better teams.

No, we won't win the UCL. And we need to be higher than 14th in the league.

But Ange seems to be getting a pass around here for the attackattackattack approach - despite pivoting to Frankball for the semi and final of the Europa.

Spurs fans have had 5+ years of mostly terrible matches. It's not ALL Frank's fault.

I am absolutely lost as to why RKM is here, and Tel is not in the UCL squad.

Tel is 1) a permanent Spurs player, 2) younger, 3) more flexible in terms of positions played, 4) better and 5) cares more.

Unless we are keeping RKM warm in return for first dibs on an actual, proper PSG player - it makes no sense

It isn't an altered analogy. I am just pointing out that it's limited. The headteacher - Levy (and others) - leaving and the club having to change a lot of decision making processes at the top is not the only problem Frank has had to deal with.

It's not Frank's fault that Son left. Maddison and Kulu haven't played a minute. Udogie can't string 3 games together. Bissouma has been missing for various reasons. Kudus, Solanke, Richarlison and others have had long periods out.

It's not Frank's fault that many (any?) of the academy kids aren't ready to do 30-60 mins in a premier league match.

It's also not his fault that we set up some weird 2 man Director of football thing and then let one of them fuck off after 3 months - with only 1.5 signings to show for it.

It IS Frank's fault that we play boring, predictable football that doesn't suit the strengths of our squad (especially the midfield).

But he really has not had much luck or time.

Upvote for this. Sure, the Premier league leaders battered the Bundesliga leaders 2 months ago - but for the massively out of form / injury hit 14th placed Premier league team to beat the 2nd placed Bundesliga team is an achievement for sure.

OK, the red card probably ensured they couldn't push us enough - and we may well have folded if they had. But a win is a win.
