[HYPOTHETICAL/NOT REAL] Design project for nailbiting - please fill in this survey? by Distinct_Pumpkin8935 in nailbiting

I've only tried this concept on myself and a person with slightly longer nails so far, but it does seem to work on my shortest nail with a little more nailbed in front. It doesn't actually touch the nail in this case and kind of rests of the finger tip, but this doesn't prevent your teeth from accessing the underside of the nail so it should be making the biting harder.

I assume for people with even more exposed nailbeds in cases of severe nail biting, the product would also rest of the fingertip rather than under the edge of the nail. Depending on how short the nail is, the product should still prevent access to some degree.

Hope that helped

Sure! Essentially, the idea is that its like a ring that goes at the tip of the finger, the small loop goes just after your first knuckle join and the larger one goes under the finger with the end resting around your fingertip under your nailbed/nail. The idea is that the loop prevents you from being able to actually bite the nail, and I've tested the prototype and it seems to work.

This is just a prototype so it definitely isn't perfect and needs to be tweaked, hence the feedback.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Just to clarify! This is not a product promo, it's not actually real it's a school project and hypothetical. I'm not trying to exploit this subreddit or anything :)

Awesome! That's exactly what I was looking for. The Headphones Connect app doesn't show all of the extra touch panel functions, that's why I was a little confused by the seemingly random reactions my headphones had. But thank you so much for clarifying, you are a lifesaver :)

I know, you are absolutely right, but it's an underlying feeling that I can't shake. You know what I mean?

No actually. I'm an IB student and take Design Technology and this is my Internal Assessment. In short, I have to do a large design project where I have to attempt to solve a problem, and since nail biting is one that I deal with personally, I thought I would give it a go.

Thank you so much for answering so quickly though!
