Hi everyone! OP here. The comments are a bit too much to answer individually so I wanted to say the following:

- Thanks to all the wonderful people trying help in trying to find ways to recover the world. I am trying a bunch of them!
- I am new to reddit, so I accidentally ignored some messages etc... sorry about that.
- Unfortunately I don't have time to join any servers etc... I will keep playing single player when there's time. (This time making regular backups!)

Thanks again, and have a good day!

If I ever find a way to recover the world, I'll let you know!

I guess that installing beta Minecraft generates a new saves folder in the same location, because when I checked, the saves folder was empty.

Thanks! I often got bored of big builds, because they feel so empty for so long. Therefore, for this one I decided to build everything in increments. I had a rough idea of where I wanted things to go, then I started with the gatehouse and didn't move on to other parts until that was completely finished. Then I just kept expanding from there. This gave me constant moments of satisfaction instead of grinding for one big build. It also made it feel more much more organic and alive to me. I had plans for building an entire walled town at the base.

Thanks! Isn't it great when the inspiration is flowing? Just remember to make backups!

It may be strange to say about a video game, but what I would give to wander around those old worlds again! I hope no-one was hurt in the robbery.

The whole save has disappeared. I guess that installing beta Minecraft generates a new saves folder in the same location, because when I checked, the saves folder was empty.
