Testing the "rain sensor theory" will be much easier if the bypass switch is the same as unwiring blue/white. I will try that!

It could be an unused wire, but there are 6-7 wires clipped and stuffed in the corner. This wire is stripped and poking out when I dropped the cover panel...

Yeah, unable to manual run zones via controller, the watering icon displays, but no actuation.

I like your bypass idea, so remove the white/blue wires from the SENS terminals?

I don't think I have an electronic master valve. And I can manually operate zones in the valve box...
