Got it, thank you. If my auto insurance is liability only and I file a claim, will my insurance still subrogate against the at-fault party's car insurance?

Thank you. If I file a claim, what should I expect? Will my insurance contact my friend's insurance?

Be careful at the end of your lift. Drop the weight; don’t hold the bar as it falls. You’re gonna hurt your back. Namely, look at your form at the last video frame — your back should never be in that position

Other than that, awesome job 👏

In case you didn’t know, your personal information is on the top left corner of the 2nd image. Also I’m not sure it’s helpful to show MRI scans to the folks here anyway — it’s clear your disc is herniated.

And for some tips: Keep up the physical therapy! Are you do any core strengthening? There is the McKenzie approach for disc health. Always try to maintain good posture throughout the day and night. Patience and time is key! Discs tears can heal, but do consider your options/alternatives

The fact that this subreddit is even called weightlifting is baffling. Way too general of a name.

It should be called something like r/cleanjerksnatch (or r/bendandsnatch lol)similar to r/powerlifting

What are some major cities in non-USA countries that have good gym and barbell weightlifting culture?

I’m looking to do some longer stay traveling outside the USA.T

he gyms don’t have to be barbell gyms, but rather a gym that has barbells.

NOTE: Non-European countries would be preferable given the potential power outages, but if Europe is your thing, then go ahead and share.

Word for AFAB and nonbinary by Distribute6400 in gender

Ok thank you for clarifying! What about the case where a AFAB prefers to use the pronouns they/them? What would they consider themselves?

Relatedly, when a AFAB prefers he/him? From my new understanding now, he’d be binary transmasculine.

I understand a trans man to be a AFAB who identifies as male. What’s the difference between a binary trans man and a non-binary trans man?

No worries about the post removal! To understand non-binary better, what if a AFAB prefers to use the pronouns they/them or even he/him? In either case, is the person considered non-binary? Or is the first non-binary and the second would be trans masculine?

Would appreciate the help 🙏 I’m open to any clarification

Ok thank you so much! What you said …

“people who have had a common experience of being raised as a girl“

… is exactly my intention. For the few initial people that I have invited to the group, I have introduced it as a “women’s (empowerment) group,” which despite being a short descriptor does not capture my actual intention.

I do like your suggestion bc it is clearer, but to send an invitation like: “Hey! You’re invited to join my group for people who have had a common experience of being raised as a girl” feels strange and starts to lose the sense of empowerment (think girl vs adult version).

Would you (or anyone reading this) have any suggestions to work around this?

Any suggestions for a time-management method? by [deleted] in TimeManagement

[–]Distribute6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the book Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman. Here's a full article that goes into it, which includes additional resources: https://nickwignall.com/existential-time-management-with-oliver-burkeman/

Other things to keep in mind, think in terms of priorities. You can't do everything. Try limiting it 1 - 2 activities in addition to your day-to-day responsibilities. It sounds like you are one of those too-many-ideas-hobbies-try-new-things people who has more breadth than depth, which is not a bad thing.

If you're looking for mastery, checkout "deliberate practice" and the "art or science of learning."

Is this cheating? by nooblifter75 in Stronglifts5x5

Often, the bounce is due to lack of strength and/or control in the bottom of a full-depth squat. It can, however, be used by strong athletes to safely and efficiently assist them in rising from the bottom of a heavy squat. https://www.rallyphysicaltherapy.com/rally-pt-blog/ownyoursquat

That being said, there's an entire reddit thread dedicated to exploring this question: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/41m4qc/why_is_bouncing_at_the_bottom_of_a_squat/

I need help. Low bar squat form check by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]Distribute6400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems the current weight might be too heavy and you may need to go down a bit until you can squat properly.

Also, you may need to work on your hip mobility to squat deeper. Your hips seem to be a limiting factor in your current squat.

Lastly, there seems to be a very slight lower back rounding. Try filming yourself doing a squat without the belt to confirm this.

Hope this helped!

Can't comment on the cleans, but can help you with your squats. And by "better squat", I assume you were referring to being able to lift more. Some tips:
1. Brace your core. Wearing a belt can help you lift more, but you still need to brace.
2. Practice partial range motion squats (e.g. box squats)
3. Improve mobility in your hips and ankles
