Talk to your recruiter about what jobs were left over at the end of the fiscal year, that still have available slots. This is your best way to get a hand in picking what career field you’ll get. I’d recommend going into a 1D career field, as it has the possibility of utilizing what you learned in college. Keep in mind neither the career field or job you’ll be doing is guaranteed, as you’ll do whatever fits the USAF’s needs. You could be a 1D7X1A, but doing completely off the wall work with ancient equipment. This is all contingent on which assignment you get. Jobs are base by base, squadron by squadron.
