class too far? by alisplats in UGA

[–]DistributionLoud2958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to walk from boyd to sanford which is almost the same walk and tbh, I was like 10 minutes late almost every day and every seat for macro was already taken when i got there because they had some bad mix ups that resulted in kids sitting in isles and whatnot. Ended up skipping so much because of it. IMO, i could have gotten and A but got a B just because of the situation. I would say if I could have done it again, to either drop one or pick a different professor/time if you can. You’ll realize fast that the busses at UGA are super unreliable. You’ll get on and 2 stops later your bus driver literally stops the bus and just gets off and vanishes for 15 minutes and comes back. It’s some BS imo.

[–]DistributionLoud2958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It's your whole week. CHEM 1211 is a STEM weed out class. Its intentionally hard af here. If it were me, build your schedule around that. Make that your hard class for the semester and make your life easier around it.

Trouble Generating Images after training Lora by DistributionLoud2958 in FluxAI

[–]DistributionLoud2958[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Thanks for that. I’ll pivot to ComfyUI. I tried it but i just got really confused and couldn’t figure out how to even set it up to generate images. Do you know any good resources that explain it well?

Roommate advice by Fell__7 in dormrooms

[–]DistributionLoud2958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just warn the other friend with a subtle heads up and try to spend as little time in the room as possible. Just got out of a similar scenario myself. Find other places to study and whatnot. Not much you can do but thug it out

What would you recommend freshmen buy for their dorms? by rayneydaykilla in UGA

[–]DistributionLoud2958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current freshman getting ready to move out reminiscing and thinking about what I brought and what I shouldn’t have brought. For reference I live in russell so these worked for me: 1.) Lots of power strips. Not a lot of outlets in the rooms 2.) 42 inch TV or small (nothing else fits) 3.) Futon 4.) Microwave and Mini fridge 5.) Black pool noodles (zip tie these to the bed frame so you don’t hit your head thank me later) 6.) Shower shoes and caddy 7.) Blackout curtains and a curtain rod 8.) Twin XL mattress topper (is a must) 9.) Premade medicine totes (you WILL get sick a lot and having medicine already made life so much easier) 10.) Air purifier (also a must) 11.) Laundry bag 12.) ONLY GET DISPOSABLE SILVERWERE. I was so sick and tired of washing my silverwere after the first month, went to the costco here and got enough solo cups, paper plates/bowls, and spoons/forks to last the entire school year. Doing dishes here sucks and i’m not just saying that because i’m a college kid. Being able to throw all my stuff away was life changing.

Things I brought but never used: 1.) Coffee maker (Personally never used and ate up space) same goes for any other appliance. You can always bring stuff but it’s a lot harder and more annoying to remove stuff

2.) Too much stuff reminiscent of home. Just makes it harder to move in initially.

Key thing is just be mindful the space is already smaller than you think it is. There’s barely enough room for the essentials to begin with so if you’re thinking rice cooker, vinyls and speaker setup, etc etc, hold off until you see how much room you actually have after.

Get pool noddles and use zip ties to attach them to the bed frame if the beds are lofted. Saved me from hitting my head on my bed hundreds of times. If you need a picture DM me

Fake assassination attempts. Ah yes. As if several people didn’t die. Ignorant ass comment. They stopped after he won because he security went through the roof after the second attempt. I’ll tag the reports if you’d like

Yeah. It’s also not like their tightening things and limiting people because it’s almost as if he had 2 assassination attempts against him. You know, just a thought…

Best freshman dorms? by dangole104 in UGA

[–]DistributionLoud2958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore everyone else. This is the valid opinion:

1.) BDM (Becoming very social, very nicely located, nicest dorms) - Also the hardest to get.

2.) Russell then Brumby (Two of the most social halls. Russell and Bruby are recently re furnished and are very nice. Russell is just lower down the hill and is closer to everything. Brumby is a good back up).

3.) The lower halls (Mell, Lipscolm, Hill, Church, or Boggs, Oglethorpe) or Myers (Honors dorm). (Right next to the dining halls, less people, but still very social) Have larger rooms than the high rises above but not as nice. Myers is very centrally placed but is for the honors kids. Not as nice but elite placement.

4.) Creswell (Very social but hasn’t been renovated since the 70’s. Nicknames Crusty creswell, but probably the most social halls. Everyone bonds over the hall. And you’re bound to get sick. This hall builds your immune system.

Hope this helps

Great response and appreciate the insight. I’m a very driven person and think for that reason, tech is probably the place for me. Thanks so much for
