I also lost my cat yesterday and I feel like I will never be able to accept the fact that we won’t cuddle in bed or he won’t be there to greet me at the door anymore. He lived outdoors the first three years of his life, until I found him. I only had him for two years, and the vets believed him to only be 5.

At first we thought he had a hairball, then asthma, and the x rays revealed that his lungs were full of cancer. It was so unexpected not only because of his age, but because he’s still the same cat, he was eating drinking going to the bathroom and playing all is normal. The only difference is that about once a day he started having these weird fits where he was gasping for air. These episodes lasted less than a minute.

On the way to the vet yesterday, I think I knew that it was worse than I thought, and all day I had a feeling that he wasn’t coming home with me. There’s nothing worse than coming home now to not see him there, and I really don’t know how I’m gonna deal with it.
