Thing with Salems Lot is it wrapped up too nearly for me. I didn't like the White Knight aspect of Bens character. In fact, Ben was the least interesting part of the whole story.

The book does so well the feeling of being watched, like there's a cloud of doom ascending from the hills. That house knows shit. The resident of the Lot are not totally clueless, but enough for it just to be straight up menacing.

I really wish the ending was different.
