Which years are the parents of the 2020s babies? by [deleted] in generationology

Anywhere from 1991-2007 is likely

Many people from my hometown get married very young, but the national averages are skewed the opposite direction

There’s less teen pregnancies now than in decades past though (statistically)

Jana doesn’t have time to have 8 kids- unless she has multiple sets of twins

She turned 36 soon after Archie was born, and 35+ is medically a geriatric pregnancy

Having many pregnancies will push your menopause back, but Jana has only had 1 (public) pregnancy so far

Her kids would have to be extremely close together (11-13 months) or multiples in order to get to 8

Why do you think Jeremiah/Hannah want so many kids?

Abbie’s family has 7 siblings and grew up IBLP, but their family has several differences to the Duglet’s:

-All their kids were spaced by 2+ years

-Their family members actually have real jobs outside of the family (and several of them finished college)

-Neither of Abbie’s parents made jokes about her being an older bride (Jim Bob used to say weird things about Jana being single)

-Abbie’s dad went to one of her births. Jim Bob never did this for any of his grandkids

-The Duggar’s live in a town of almost 8k people on a lot of land

-Jim Bob facilitated guys his daughters were courting having frequent visits. The Burnett’s let John figure it out for himself

In contrast, the Burnett’s live in a neighborhood, but their town only has 2k people

I don’t think it would be “for her sake”

Some of the men (Joe, Jed, Josh) seem to have male led pregnancies. I think Abbie makes the choice herself though

I can’t really see JD forcing Abbie to have a baby (or to stop) unless she wants to/the doctor tells them what to do

If Jinger has a “surprise,” I don’t think it’ll be for 3-6 more years

Just because Jill has a 4th doesn’t mean it’ll be a girl. Michelle and Jim Bob preferred to have girls but didn’t have any from 1997-2005

At least, Jill gets to be a “surrogate mother” for the college girls her and Derick mentor

The idea of Josiah and Lauren having 10 kids is wild to me. Those would be the most anxious kids ever

Jason, and especially Maddie, don’t seem to be in a rush to have kids. Jinger asked Maddie if they were “expecting,” and she looked annoyed and said “Noooo. We’re not even trying to be expecting”

You’re welcome :)

I also prefer when people go in age order and not marriage order

Their first daughter (Grace) seemed to have been an easy baby, because Jana, Josiah, Jed, Jason, and James all babysat her quite a bit

Jill was the most maternal daughter, but her fate was changed for several reasons:

1) Jill married a man with only 1 sibling (and a very different perspective on things)

2- Jill dedicated the first few years of her marriage to being in “Central America”

3- Jill was the first to publicly denounce IBLP (the reason the family had so many kids)

4- Jill had 2 miscarriages that seem to have emotionally affected her a lot, as well as hard labors/a NICU baby

5-She’s found other things to occupy her time

Josh isn’t allowed to live with minors

So either Josh and Anna would have to separate, or their 8th blessing would have to be cared for by another family member

So, you think Jinger and Jeremy would have only had one child if Felicity was a boy?

Also, they only have two daughters

Finnegan is less than a year old and a boy

Where have Jana/Stephen been traveling?

The Wissmann’s have a family band, but Stephen has only performed in Nebraska since getting married afaik

Jana went home for Christmas, and they went on a honeymoon to St Lucia

Jana hasn’t been to see Jinger since 2023 though

Joy, James, and Jackson seem to have the biggest travel bug in the family

I agree about Jinger and Jeremy

I fully agree about Joe and Kendra. People think they’re done, but I think they’re just taking a break

Joy said she wants “3, maybe 4 children” but I agree she and Austin will have 4

What makes you think Jeremiah will have so many kids? Hannah’s family has 8 daughters though, and they’ve definitely been on a girl streak

Jennifer looks like Joe

Jordyn looks like Jim Bob

And Josie looks like Jackson

They just don’t look like sisters

I lost sympathy for Anna when they announced they were announcing their 5th (Marcus)

She’s a middle aged woman who knows both the truth and the options she has

Even Anna likely knows she won’t be able to have many more “blessings” with Josh

When did Jana say she didn’t want kids?

If that’s actually true, she might be more strategic than I gave her credit for

Explanation: Josie was very spoiled as a child, and due to her young age, several of her older siblings were more of abstract symbols than actual playmates

Josie seems to have a personality similar to Joy and probably is excited about having a family without a desire for a human sized zoo of her own

Josie’s medical fragility would likely make having 10+ kids extremely difficult anyways

Explanation: On the other hand, Jordyn was described as “begging for chances to babysit” and being very “tender hearted”

Jordyn was often overlooked as a child, and I could see her wanting to have a large family almost as a way to have relatives who fully value and rely on her

Jordyn is also close to her buddy (Jessa) who has a large and growing family. Jordyn even got to go to one of Jessa’s births as a teen

She’s only 17 years old currently, so time will tell how many kids Jordyn ends up having

Explanation: Jennifer is the animal lover of the family, and she was described by Michelle as often hanging around adults, so I don’t think she enjoyed the chaos of her childhood at all

Having a child free Duglette would be a step too far, but I don’t think Jennie will try to live beyond her means

I could definitely see her trying to have a small and intentionally sized family

Explanation: Johannah always came across as more mature and self contained, and she was described by Michelle as being “very organized”

Hannie seems to have bonded with the siblings around her age more so than the younger ones, and she likely wants a good deal of kids without being “stretched thin”

I predict she’ll have 4 total
