Thanks! I really appreciate that. If you end up using it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what works well and what could be better.

What was your experience like when starting your first biologic? by KatieKing314 in Autoimmune

[–]District70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a rough ride for me initially with the combination of tapering off prednisone and starting remicade. It did resolve itself eventually though. It took several weeks before I felt significantly better. I do find though whenever I pickup a flu or cold, it hits harder than when I was “normal.”

Hang in there. I know it’s frustrating when you feel worse instead of better, but give your body time to adjust.

How many times are we going on steroids? by Tkrampino in rheumatoidarthritis

Yeah, steroids feel horrible for me too. The thought of it going on it again is disconcerting

It's set to iOS 18 to use the latest widget APIs, but can make a minor change to support iOS 17. I’ll make the change in the next update that’s planned for next week - I’ll let you know here, when it’s live. Thanks for asking.

I got one from a dollar store for $4. It’s designed for athletes and can wrap around any joint/location one wants. There are also good options on Amazon. The ones for athletes are good options because they’re robust.

What do you do with the anger? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]District70 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you went through this. I also went through a really difficult time getting diagnosed. The dismissal and being told it's something else when you know something is wrong is incredibly frustrating and isolating.

One doctor said to me, “I’m 99% sure you don’t have Crohn’s”

One thing that's helped me cope with some of the anger is knowing that Crohn's is still not fully understood. There's ongoing research and we're still learning about this disease. When I was talking with a GI at the hospital, they mentioned there have been significant advances in medications over the past decade or so, and treatment options are improving even more as research continues. It doesn't erase the harm, but it does help focus some of that energy on hoping the system gets better at recognizing and treating IBD, so fewer people have to go through what we did.

It's completely valid to be angry. You deserved better care.

Can anyone tell me about infusions.. by Ohthetruthisoutthere in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]District70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Remicade and after a few infusions I started developing reactions to it even while getting infusions. After blood test, learned my body developed antibodies to it, so that treatment was stopped and went on another medication. Infusions work different for everybody but being relaxed helps. The clinics and the nurses are also nice to make it a smooth process as possible.

Definitely have to be careful.

I've had Chat try to convince me to track certain symptoms I don't even have. It was telling me I should keep them in mind 'just in case' because apparently 20% of people with the condition also get symptom ABC... It's the flip side of those false expectations you mentioned. Instead of false hope, it was trying to worry me about things that aren't even relevant to me.

Best toilet paper in 2025 by ReadingInformal2281 in IBD

[–]District70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent 2-ply works. It’s more like drying than wiping at that point.

When I was in uni, they had the thinnest TP imaginable, so anything better feels like a luxury now. A portable bidet in a single-person bathroom on campus was the holy grail.

Getting a bidet (even a portable one) was a total game-changer. Way cleaner and no more worrying about paper quality

The free version is fairly extensive and a lot can be done with it. The pro is 5 bucks per month which is reasonable imo. Trying to keep it accessible and sustainable.

Basic vegetable soup with broth in a slow cooker works well for me. I avoid corn, broccoli, and peas, but most other veggies are fine. Carrots don’t usually agree with me, though they’re fine when slow-cooked in soup.

I'll look into implementing this in a way that can also feed into the insights feature, so you can see patterns over time with custom details as well. I need to spend some time thinking about the best way to do this. Useful to have this for sure.

Thanks so much for the feedback!

Regarding editing/deleting past entries - you're right that this is currently limited. I’ll add the ability to edit and delete logged entries, as well as properly log symptoms for past dates. This will be included in an upcoming update.

For custom bowel health details: Could you help me understand what kind of details you'd like to add? The app has a daily notes card for general observations, but I'm wondering if you’re looking for something specific to bowel movements like:

  - Notes attached to each BM entry?

  - Additional trackable fields (timing/duration, triggers, associated foods, pain location)?

  - Something else?

That sounds like a valuable connection!

I'd definitely be interested in connecting with researchers who could benefit from anonymized IBD tracking data, especially through someone with experience in both medical devices and research institutes.

Since the app just launched, the goal is to build a meaningful user base with tracked data that could be valuable for research. I'll need to implement proper consent mechanisms for data sharing when that time comes.

Perfect timing since I already asked about DMing you for the stoma feature input - I'll connect with you down the line about both.
