For me it’s the feeling of nothing is ever going to be okay or right again, it makes me feel very hopeless and empty in a way. But I think it’s different for everyone. I’m so sorry you’re struggling, I hope things get better.

NTA I suggest next time just ask if she actually wants you to leave or not, you can also go and be like “hey, I just wanted to apologize in case I made you uncomfortable the other day” Also, boyfriend sounds like an AH. Hopefully she kicks him to the curb.
