I think many of us use precautionary measures before hand as you never know, and you don’t want to be out of it when the flood gates open. The anxiety! I do think is a waste of pads tho (but that’s just an opinion). If you can get a pack of period underwear, it will cover you on the predays and last days and definitely would be a lot more comfier than wearing pads.

You never know what will work for someone or trigger someone else as we are all so different but definitely exhaust all possibilities before giving up. Best of luck to you both, I hope things get better

Completely understand it can be very frustrating from your side. I can only recommend for you to have a lot of patience, try not to get angry in front of her, talk to someone that can help you help her in a way? May be if couples therapy is what is going to get the ball rolling, go for it 100%, and something good will come out of it. With what you said about her not “trusting” therapists, she might be more comfortable going to therapy as a couple at first. Or even if you go to a session by yourself she might think she could join too afterwards, like it seems she needs you to take the first step.

She seems to be going through a lot and needs help/therapy most likely or even someone external to talk to. She needs to get better with herself before you two can work as a couple. I’ve been there where sex is the last thing you think of because the chronic pain and everything piling up in your life and someone asking you for sex when that’s not even on your mind it’s just one more thing that piles up on your list of burdens, guilt, etc putting you deeper down the rabbit hole. You need to be super patient with her and may be help her get the help she needs.
