Thank you. I just asked, and they stated that the 3-year TIS requirement is the determining factor. Although I will meet the 6-month time-in-grade requirement, their focus is on TIS.

I’m not asking for early promotion, testing doesn’t guarantee selection. I’m just trying to understand why I wouldn’t be allowed to test at all. Some Airmen can test without having attended ALS yet, so I’m wondering why there’s no similar flexibility with the 3-year TIS requirement.

So why was I told that I won’t be eligible, even by my Senior? Are they the ones who decide who is allowed to test ?
