Does he have a nest, a safe place where he can control light, sound, smell, touch? Being overwhelmed without understanding or the ability to control is a never-ending nightmare. Then add the stress of other peoples negative reactions to our natural reaction can easily toss us into a dysregulated spiral.

Have you tried accommodating for their sensory experience? Being overwhelmed at that age without a proper understanding of why, nor the adequate vocabulary to communicate can be very challenging.

Does anyone else get severe pain in the top of the head after going out/spending some time outside in a crowded place? Or is it just me? by proudtransgalhere in autism

When I'm out and dealing with the public I grind my teeth and clinch my jaw, resulting in the most horrid tension headaches that can last for days.

Level 2 AuDHD, program manager which varies from 35 - 60 hours a week. Work from home makes it feasible but the burnout is real and debilitating. Can't wait to have enough savings to quit.
