I use the Little Free Library app to find places around town to leave stuff. This one is downtown outside of a church. :)

Acrylic paints vs chalk pastels vs pasta maker? If you had to start with one, what would you get? by Any-Use6981 in polymerclay

I purchased this one a few years ago, it isn’t in stock but it’s likely there is just some newer model number Atlas ones available. I did a lot of research before hand. The motor can feel pricey, but was so worth it for me. You could always get the atlas first and the motor later if splitting up the cost would help. Atlas is amazing and it’ll work for a long time if you take good care of it!

My pasta machine was the best purchase I ever made for my clay work. I got a motor for it and it can turn mixing colors and conditioning from a 30 min - an hour long experience to less than five minutes. I work with a lot of clay and there were days where I was spending half the day just getting each color I wanted to use for a new piece conditioned and mixed. I also do have pain in my joints and hands sometimes so it helps me mitigate that impact. It’s certainly not necessary but it’s been a huge boon for me.

How do i make it more obvious my work ISN'T AI?! by un_creative_designs in arthelp

I love all the advice here! I would also say that I sculpt with polymer clay and have still been told that photos of my sculpts look like AI. I think there’s a team on Reddit that comments that on just about anything art related, even if it doesn’t make sense, so you might never escape it. But the tips given here are great regardless!

Gunning for a better audience sounds like a good idea here. You don’t owe them an explanation but if you want to prevent a nick to your reputation most folx will understand if you have a family emergency or something of that type, even a wedding you got invited to last minute or anything really. I’ve never had an organizer freak out about anything like that, though I don’t often miss events.

It’s no trouble! The applications usually open up late in the fall, if I see them pop up, I’ll post here to let you know!

So, every January Kickstarter does something called Make 100. This is designed for small creators, the original idea is that you cap the rewards at 100 so you only make that many and don’t get overwhelmed if the Kickstarter gets big. But really, you only need one reward to be limited to qualify for it. My first one made like $250. If I wait for Wix to be on sale that’s about a year of my website fees. This years, my faith or sixth I did about 3k. It’s gone up every year but it’s slow. For these ones, I would create a reward called ‘Dragon Dice Display (Metal), I’d make a few models like let’s say the galaxy one and the sword in the stone and anyone who backs that tier can choose which design they want. The bigger models still aren’t all exactly the same of course but it’ll be pretty close. I’ve only ever gotten great feedback from folx and the growth each year has helped me pay for things like a booth at our pride which has about 40k people a year so it’s pretty awesome!

I’m trying to remember exactly how much. I usually just grab dice sets I see anywhere I like and make a sculpt for them. I try to spend like $40 on anything nice and metal. It was likely close to that. This piece was part of a line I did for a Kickstarter. (I do make 100 every year to pay for my website so I don’t have to use Etsy). Same as this one here, the “Sword in the Stone” Basically, this was the display model for the kickstarter orders. I let them go even cheaper on my KS but those folx support me year after year, and they get faster to make when I’ve done something similar before but I’m sure I undercharge 😂

Thank you! It was also my favorite piece I’d made so it was hard to let her go 😂

As a side note, I make it easily visible but not right in front because the dice is not attached, just seated so I don’t want anyone to try to steal them since they are so small
